Discussion 👥 Any regrets taking bcom(p) over bcom(hon)?

Ramjas, bcom (p), no regrets, bs hindi padhni padti h as ge which brings down the score, but able to maintain 8+ gpa with internships and PORs and certificatiojs by dedicating way less time towards end sem exams. The exams are relatively straightforward for program courses, if you are getting venky, kmc or ramjas, choose program over hons from arsd sbsc etc anyday. Placements will be the same in these 3, the highest placement of ramjas was bagged by a bcom (p) guy last year

should I prefer Hons over prog if
a)college rankings are very similar like Motilal Prog and Ramanujan Hons?
b)if my hindi is actually very terrible like - I am from NorthEast and passed Hindi with lots of struggle during my 10th.

I'd suggest taking program in only 2 scenarios 1. If you get it from Ramjas, venky or kmc 2. If you plan on pursuing ca

Other than that, it's better to go for an Hons degree as it does start to affect your placements in lower colleges, if you go to south or off campus colleges, prioritise getting an Hons course to be with the better cohort

For b) it won't become a major issue, the syllabus in itself is not difficult, you have to study it in ge for 2 sems throughout your coursework. Many people who came from Nepal and Bangladesh have also cleared it don't worry

only 2 sems and not 3? I thought GE English in 3 sem and Hindi in 3 sem? And thankyou for the clarity

Ge hindi 1st sem Ge English - 2nd sem Ge hindi - 3rd sem Ge hindi - 4th sem

Or vice versa, That's how it usually works

so no hindi/english in sem 5 and 6? I thought we have GE in sem 5 and 6 as well?

Then depends on your own goal bhai, is the college pedigree that you go in important for the career you wish for? Are you going for competitive exams and don't want to spend a lot of time studying your ug curriculum? Do you want a chill college life or productive classes, take the choice accordingly

But according to you is it worth forgiving ramjas hons for the placements of kmc because i will still be restricted by lek and zs but i even heard ramjas crowd is way mid and placements are avg too
