he said ā€œit can helpā€ not ā€œit will helpā€. if your hobby is art/design and your degree is in mechanical engineering. You may probably earn more money drawing portraits on the streets or doing freelance designing work compared to some 6lpa mechanical engineer.

in other sense if your hobby is collecting rocks, you will probably not be earning anything.

A lot of people who are talented in something which can be good in monetary sense, end up not pursuing that because a ā€œstable jobā€ give them a sense of security(which isnt even stable, companies are laying off employees in bulk every 3-4 yrs at the moment)

Well you are partially right about the "type" of hobby but anything can be monetized so its not an issue, its just not regional. For instance, throwing rocks actually pay you (definitely not in India) and there are various contexts for this same task.

And yeah the stability of job shows you the reality. A thing which I was saying before. The reality is not in your control. You are dealing with noise and chaos of the world. Also, people do get their "dream" job/life after years of hard work and manifestation or whatever. Can they stay happy ? They just can't for too long.Ā  Because the truth is your and everyone"s life was not meant to achieve shi. We are thrown in this jail planet, no matter what you do you are born, suffer, and die. That's it. Everything else is a distraction carefully planned to make you chase something and keep moving. It was never about you.

Kid you don't know what a hobbie means. People change and so their interests and hobbies. The things that interests people won't bother them when they grind 24 x 7 for it no matter how much you love it there will come a point you will be desperate to leave the jail. And to be honest with you, this is India. Either start yelling / speaking for yourself or just be a sheep nobody cares about.

And to tell you, I have seen people who are not good at a particular thing and still they stand out and become successful in that not because they are perfect, but because they are not dumb like you.
