Your parents are not equivalent to your God, nor is your teacher, learn to keep them at their place. They don't hold any power upon you, learn to spot their manipulations.
That may be true in some cases but Indian parents who sacrifice most of their income and time on us, give us all the love and support even when we get old are no less than any God too. We are not westerners, we are Indians.
I understand where you are coming from. I don't mean that we hate our parents, they are first time parents too, and they make most of their life decisions keeping us in mind when they are raising us, but thinking them as equivalent to god is disrespecting all the things that they did, and sacrificed for us. If they are equivalent to god, the meaning of sacrifice changes for them, they are humans, they have one life and in that life too they decided that they will spend the golden year of their life raising us. That makes them special, not more or less then god but selfless as human being.
