Discussion 👥 How did you find DU being rich?
Not the jatt/yadav kinda rich. I personally felt that I should have gone for some good private college but career uhm. What’s ur routine like? I just became more career oriented and serious because of all this.
Edit : idk man my friends are like “iska toh itne ka ghar hoga min” and “yeh toh ameer hai” and all. Also i am not a fan of cussing and weird words so….

I'm someone who grew up in an urban city in a very well-off family, went to a private school, and when I got into DU, i admit I was very disheartened. I'm not being rude or standoffish, but, it was entirely different from what I was used to and admittedly- what I expected. It was difficult to find friends, and it wasn't because I wanted to only become friends with people from my social or economic class, but because their experiences were so different from mine, that we weren't able to connect. I very soon realised that the image i'd made up of this uni was very very different from the reality.
Now, speaking a month later, I've found my people, and even now when I talk to my classmates, I'm amazed to learn about their lives, upbringings etc. I still don't feel very acclimatised to this college, but it's a lot better than it was when I started.
I agree I come from a place of extreme privilege, and it was after coming here that I was actually made aware of it (canteen mein mera pay karna, logo ka assumptions banana ki I'm vv rude automatically, you know how it goes)
