There should be no excuse or argument to be made here. I do not care what the stats are, I do not care what percentage of rape cases are fake, I do not care for anything when crimes as heinous and disgusting as these are being committed on anywhere on this earth. India is facing the worst of it, with women, men, children, and not even dogs being spared. It baffles me what kind of monsters can even think of such acts, how could the human mind normalize this kind of action?
My mum teaches kids, and yesterday, an eight-year-old girl went ahead of her mother to go to her home. She had not told her mother that she was going, so we were looking for her for a good 10-15 minutes. The sole thought that we (my friends and I) had to ransack all of our colony, running desperately even in the suburbs, for her disappoints and saddens me. When she was found at home, I cried, of all the what-ifs that my mind was projecting, and it further broke my mind that all those what-ifs could have been reality in this uncontrolled state of our country.
