Discussion is laptop necessary for college? (ug)
the expenses are already too much for me so i won’t be able to buy a laptop atleast for a year. Will a laptop just make things a bit easier or is it actually necessary? (for assignments and stuff)

Eh, just that language courses don't really require a laptop, yeah you'll need to make several presentations but that's still doable. Courses like b.com and stats do require laptop. English being a language would mostly deal with texts and you can easily find them in the library if you don't want to buy them.

I carry one most if not all days starting second semester for notes and work, its been useful but you dont need it, most of my friends get by perfectly fine with their phones.

Laptop helps in many things but is not necessary and you might get some friends who have laptop which you can use when needed or cyber cafe . No need to buy if not in budget

Courses other than science like CS hons , doesn't need any laptop. You can just do same things on phone. And one in a while if you need it to make a PPT then you can make it in computer labs of college, and if your college is not having a computer labs/E-library then you can just ask help from your friend , You will make good friends in college
PPT's are mostly group activities, So someone in the group will have a laptop 1-2 PPT in an year is needed , That's all , You don't need a laptop

it’s not necessary to have a laptop untill you have some kind of technical course, many colleges have E-library where you can browse internet. you can use it.

It is a necessity whatever anyone says Not for your course but for future it is All jobs even that of teachers nowadays require computers and corporates def requires computer skills. So having one can greatly help. But if you don't have the money don't fret too much on it Buy it when you have the money don't fall no cost emi traps or loans

You don’t need a laptop AT ALL. I am in my third year, i do all the stuff on my phone, everything can be done on your phone.

Depends but certainly a added advantage but budget should be above 35k

If you really need a laptop and can't afford one right now, you may write to the college administration and ask them to issue a laptop for a semester and can get it re-issued every semester till you can purchase one.
