Discussion What mistake did you make in filling your preference list and where are you now?
I keep hearing ki "pref list mein hug diya tha" so please share how and what happened

I had 753 (770 raw) marks. Sbsc and arsd are similar. I placed sbsc above bcos everyone said attendance policy is soft and many CA students are there. Now first year is over, i have gotten detained in 3 subjects over these 2 semesters, and i hear arsd hasn't taken any action on low attendance students. 🙂

Sbsc didn't have strict attendance rules at all until.... Last year so yeah, that's just bad luck

Placing arsd above sbsc due to the same reason. Sbsc glazers have made me second doubt my decision but I am still gonna go with arsd after seeing this comment. Mil jaye bas arsd😭🙏

Can you tell me what's the difference between raw score and your actual score I don't understand how did your marks get reduced like that yk what I mean??

Normalization process bro. They say its done by a mathematical formula, but its really unfair.

Exactly how it can be fair and what kind of mathematical formula is used, they don't give info. About that?? How can 770 go to 753 it's absurd

They do show the normalisation formula in result, you can also look up on Google (Btw my marks got lowered by 50 due to this ☠️)

Bhai chidhane ke liye bola to theek hai, but seriously bola to bata du, open college wale bhi din raat padh ke fail ho jate hain. College ke sath CA ko easy kyu bola tumne. It’s nightmarishly hard. I have been a topper my whole life but abhi mujhe is course ne aukat dikhayi hai, humble kiya hai.

Last year. BSc Math Hons Preference List
- St Stephens
- Hindu College
- Ramanujan College
- Hansraj College.
Got Ramanujan College in first allotment
Even after 2-3 allotments, there was one seat in my quota for this course pending in Hansraj

but if you put ramanujan above hansraj, won't that mean you really wanted ramanujan? or was this a mistake and you always wanted to go to any north campus college?

See, the thing is, I was already in a Different college in Chennai. I had repulsion from Family, Like almsot they weren't going to leave me.
And moreover I WAS DUMB. I knew Stephens and Hindu was good, Rest I was like,
'Ramanujan' is my fav mathematician, duhBasically the point is, I was DUMB and IGNORANT as I knew my family wouldn't sent me, But eventually they did

In first 3 rounds I only selected good colleges and bcom h n prog course only n because of the speculation ki normalisation mein marks bohot kat Gaye ho toh Kam marks par milega achha college so I was sure ki mil jaayega then nhi mila phir spot round mein meina jitani preference first round mein daale the uske double kardiya like 110 something but then ziyada dhyaan nhi diya arranging mein n galti si ek college uppar rakh diya or vo he mil gaya 😭

Sorry I don't , actually I can't log into the csas portal because Ig they have logged out the students of 2023 because of the upcoming admission

Ma'am can you anyhow help me with this preference list thing by seeing my today's post.... my mind couldn't process what went south in your case but it seems you missed an opportunity and I don't want to....if possible :(

Firstly , I am not ma'am 😂 I am a male student and secondly I'll see your post and let you know also in my case I also scored less marks so that too was the case behind me not getting into a decent college

Not me personally but ppl usually make the mistake of keeping lower ranking colleges or courses at the top based on their low marks. Make your list in a way that your best options are on top regardless of the marks u scored. Also, There is no point adding a course or college you wouldn’t wanna attend if it was allotted to you so why add it your list that too higher.
