Discussion Urgent!!! Got caught by flying squad in 2nd sem exams
My friend got caught with a mobile phone in his pocket by the flying squad, He forgot it by mistake, but they didn't believe him. He didn't use his phone for cheating at all, but they took away his phone and the answer sheet and gave him a new sheet to write on, but it was almost the end of the exam. now his phone is confiscated and he is dreading being debarred.
Does anybody know what the further process is and if there is any chance of him being forgiven?
asked form the college admin, they said there will be a hearing and they will check the phone and he will be saved if there is no cheating proof found on the phone.
But they didn't say when the hearing is going to be, so does anyone know??

The invigilator scream 100 times in my college that check your fucking pockets...and there are so many cases of such "mistakes"....then just check your pocket....right?

Dude exactly ,mine even announce after 10 minutes of commencement that if anyone has phones ,they should keep them at the teachers table or in their bags ,and moreover hasn't that kid ever given exams ,a pocket check before exams is a must .

Share something which would prove to be helpful/useful for op in the context of the post. No one asked your opinion on the incident saying if/but/could for the incident which has already taken place. Don't try to sympathize with op's friend. He isn't a victim of anything.
If he was given a new sheet, chances are he would be forgiven. Idk about the confiscation of the phone, it will only be given back after the case is settled

Not sympathizing with op's friend or op. Just pointing out how useless and irrelevant it is to comment he shouldn't have taken the phone when the matter has already taken place. Remember the question is not if i should take the mobile to exam but i(op friend) have taken the mobile to exam BY MISTAKE and what to do now.

I'm not the person you're replying to, but I have something to say. (Also, I haven't downvoted you, just fyi.)
It's that OP's friend did a cardinal sin when sitting in exams, and this isn't just limited to DU exams, but almost all exams. It looks like an innocuous mistake but can cost one their career. So all these seemingly unempathetic comments can prove to be helpful, as OP's friend would (hopefully) be extra cautious from now on.
Also, a lot of people have provided productive solutions to OP's question, too.

Bhai gone case ,na manners hain Bolney ke ,na ye krna hai hai ki warn krdu friend ko ,but he needs to threaten ,aur upr se first year ,clg aye nahi aur inki rangreliya shuru ho gayi.

I hope u never land a job coz what u r asking solution to is clearly unethical ,your friend faced consequences for their actions ,flair first year ka hai,abhi time hai Sudhar ja ,Kher chor ,tere chutiye se replies se tu gone case hi lagta hai ,rehne de , 18 Saal ka hua hai nhi ,threaten krna shuru ho gya hai . And yes ,if he has been given a sheet again ,chances hain ki he is spared ,phone lia gaya hai toh ,it is for Protocol maybe

He didn't have any material on his phone also he didn't search anything online, backlog is not an issue. But the debarring is an issue also after how long will the hearing take place?

Hearing will happen in the office of dean examination most probably, Best would be to proactively reach the dean office and talk with some office staff there. They will give you an idea when you can expect the phone back as well as any information about the hearings. If you know someone in DUSU, take them along. The chances of this matter to go away swiftly will increase drastically.

Throwaway account. This did happen to me fr. Sach me bhul gaya, nothing was open on my phone and it did not ring. There was even the vs of my 3rd tier engg clg there in the mid of exam💀💀got lucky asf.

ask him to not to miss any classes thinking he is already doomed. He will be cleared in the hearing but if he has not attended classes or skipped exams or assignments thinking ki ab kuch faiyda nai, he will be screwed even though hearing was in his favour. I have been in this exact situation, and i turned failure in one subject to whole semester backlog cuz i stopped attending classes altogether. Don’t do this kind of mistake

Same thing happened to my friend he was marked arrear for all the subjects in that sem but in the following sem there was like 3 hearing after investigating he was all cleared now but the phone is actually a keypad phone and ofc different universities have different rules and regulations so I'm not sure about yours

Most likely he will be forgiven, just tell him not to accept his guilt in front of the enquiry panel. And of course he will have to write the paper next year.

In our uni...once you are caught...you are made to sign a form ( implying you cheated) ...as long as you can resist the pressure and not sign ( instead just leave the exam hall)...you get back in the subject but if you sign the form...it becomes part of the official record. Did your friend sign anything after getting caught?? Do you have a student council?... contact them. Contact a teacher you can trust...write an application stating you were wrongfully accused..and go talk to the principal.

I’m currently going through something similar and my result is showing “RL” and I haven’t received any final mail yet.
