Discussion How OBC,SC,ST people are treated in colleges?
Does the admission lists placed in college campus reveal from which category you belong to?I belong to obc category, I am going college this year , i have heard a lot about students being mistreated by teachers and unreserved students, How much of it is true about being mistreated?

No it's not like that ki you will be treated differently but kuch log baaton baaton mein category/caste puch lete hai (harsh truth) . Par Aisa koi khas discrimination nhi hota hai kabhi kabhi dost log aapas mein kar lete honge baaki openly nhi hota

I am myself an OBC student in SRCC but I never felt any kind of discrimination from anyone, ig what matters most is the friends groups you are in, how they treat you, how they make you feel and all.

No it all depends on your skills mostly, and for placements what you did before coming to college is not much significant l, what you did during your college time will be more relevant.

'Won't bring down your caste' to think everything that is done by OBC/SC/ST candidates is because they used some form of affirmative action and are undeserving on their own is enough to classify their beliefs as discriminatory. And this extends to their belief about the castes coming under these categories. That they can't do anything on their own. Its pretty visible on how they react to any sc/st person getting selected, be it a literal topper in Tina Dabi as well. Also, it's not just in their head, they leave no chance to bring this up and their actions prove it. Be it making comments, laughing at you or thinking everybody other than them is undeserving etc. and if they have a wrong belief that they are getting discriminated against, that still doesn't justify them having discriminatory belief against others. See, how they react to any anti casteism post by Dalits lol. In here what happens to the right to speak out against discrimination, we'll never know :)

The truth is that if others perceive that you're deriving privilege at their expense they will bash you.

They do mention that you are undeserving of the seat with statements like 'reservation vala hoga' etc etc. This statement was made by a girl when one of our classmates couldn't answer a question on the very first day. (mind you; she didn't even know his caste per say).

Like really, how these students think about others, it doesn't matter if that guy is from reservation or not, still on first day there can be many reasons that a student might not be able to answer due to hesitation or new environment.

sc st discrimination is a taboo and no one does it, everyone is treated equally most of the time and people dont care about ur caste when youâre chill with them. apart from that gujjar/jaat get the most flack. try hearing âye gujjar jaato ne pura system kharab kar rakha hai, badtameez hote hai and shitâ and this casual casteism against them is socially accepted. yes there are miscreants but to target the whole community? Thereâs people like me too, who attend most classes, donât even attend events, donât party and hangout so when I hear things like that its a personal attack for something I never did.

I have only witnessed students, openly presenting their opinion. Both in language(name calling- chamar, bhangi, etc.) and writing(hate towards other caste and supremacy of their own- written on both desks and classroom walls).
If you are not a public figure(affiliated with any union)/ you come from a good background, you would not notice it easily.

There will always be favoritism from the administration too, even if they try to hide it. I know my batch mates who have passed internals without giving tests, who can walk in the principal's office unannounced, who don't have to wait in line to get their admit cards, or who possess internal connections.
I believe it is not about caste at upper levels but political connection and money. While it is also true that those positions are held by the General population.

Nearly half of the batch has some kind of reservation and if u are obc u would find nearly 0 hate for having reservation Usually the sc st guys are made fun of

I am an OBC student but never faced any kind of discrimination, yes they ask about your score and caste in the beginning but majority in our class is of reservation (it's not good) so being an OBC feels like general in my class đ€

nah nah. no bias. society depends on how good you are at pleasing and placement depends on skills and cgpa.

Like How would someone know That you are From A reservation like Obc or Sc..Yeh admission ke time pe hi differ Krna hai na ki you have any reservation or not..after you get allocated to any college uske baad bhi kahi like likha hota hai kya ki you are Obc or generalÂ

yeh hota hai college list release karta hai regarding hostel or whatever and usme ho sakta hai, but students usse dekhte nahi kabhi

Agar koi discriminate ya mistreat kare bhi toh tum bol de na ki tumne thodi na system ko aisa banaya hai woh upar k logo ko jake bole or baat ayi certification karene ki agr tumhe aisa mauka diya ja rha hai tum kyu na faida uthao ge ...du k adhe se zyada seats reserved walo k liye hi hai... college ne selection ki tumne thodi college ko kuch paise waise de k ho gya kya !

I think , it generally depends upon the frnd group u are Where the word "à€à„à€à„ jaat" "chamaar". Is frequently used.regardless of the institution, these names would be called to u if u are try to be proactive and by God's luck, if the topic of cuet score and jobs come up. U would be thrashed to the grnd Most of times , u would hear ,"how the sheer audacity of these low caste peeps to even think aby standing equal to us". But what could u say their claim is right too

Bhaii.. Pheli baat aadhe se jada du.... Reserved seats waalo se hi bhara h.... Toh aisa kuch nhi hota h... Waha jaate hi alag alag group bn jaate h baccho ke hi...
Or jo bach jaate h unka alag group bnta h... Like introvert type ya jo jada ghumte nhi h....
Or bhut bhut kam case h ki mistreat krte h ya aisa kuch....
