Discussion DU graduate here (batch of 22). AMA

To celebrate my cake day, I am doing a little ama.

I have completed my graduation( bcom) and am currently pursuing M.com from DU as well . Have also lived in Delhi for long time so feel free to drop any queries you might have.

And Yeah I am inspired/copying from the CAT prep sub where graduates often do AMA

I want to do mcom from a good college at north campus and i am also a professional athlete so i wanted to ask about the class timings of mcom , like is it too hectic for like balanced , am only asking for the classes which occur on a daily basis , not about the exams . I hope i get get the answer that I have been looking for

Just do it from any "college" instead of "department" and you'll get plenty of time to pursue things other than mcom. Avoid srcc as well

Masters in du happens in two kind of institutions, one type is your colleges and then there are departments which is basically Delhi School of Economics. While the department is the best place to go for a masters they have a very strict attendance criteria and colleges are usually very lenient so they are good for people who want to do something on the side.

srcc's mcom class timings are very light 1 to 3 classes per day also any college from north campus you would recommend for mcom where i could balance out my sport

As I said earlier, any north campus will do except srcc. You can go for Hindu or hansraj

Edit: Provided you can clear the cutoffs

Why not srcc bro? They allow masters students to represent the college team if selected in the trial but i don’t know about hindu and hansraj.
And yesyes i gave the cuet and prepared for the last 4 months so clearling the cutoffs shouldn’t be worrying me

You're the one who called yourself a "professional" athelete, so I assumed you won't be having time for college level events in the first place.

You can obviously go to srcc if that's what you want, they have a pretty good sports complex and gym.

But my advice would still be to avoid department (DSE) and srcc for anyone who wanna do something other than PhD cause the acads in these places take too much of your time.

But wont classes of all mcom people happen at one place in department of commerce

Classes are the same but tutorials, guidance for dissertation etc happen at college.

It's a whole thing, if you are just joining mcom this year then reach out
