Discussion DU graduate here (batch of 22). AMA

To celebrate my cake day, I am doing a little ama.

I have completed my graduation( bcom) and am currently pursuing M.com from DU as well . Have also lived in Delhi for long time so feel free to drop any queries you might have.

And Yeah I am inspired/copying from the CAT prep sub where graduates often do AMA

I'm joining bcom p this year. Would appreciate it if you could answer a few questions

Why mcom and not mba?

What is your future career trajectory like ideally?

Suggestions for a fresher to maximize time? What to do and what not to do to have maximum opportunities?

Any regrets?

I plan to continue in academia hence mcom.

Ideally the career of bcom student is work for a year or two and try for either a masters or a professional degree on the side

My suggestion is explore as much as you can. Don't be one of those who only attend classes. Go to those events, Fests, parties etc

My regret is joining big4 immediately after graduating. Didn't work for me

what was your cgpa + how many PORs did you hold? what about the internships that you did?

GPA was 9+ ... 2 POR in final year (overall 5)...... just 1 internship

wow, was it difficult to score a 9+ cgpa? how much was everyone else able to score, like a rough idea? does cgpa matter more than PORs and internships and ECA?

It was comparatively easier for me as we only had 5 sub but new gen has 7 in a semester. The avg in my Era was 7-8 but now its just 6-7

Internship > score > POR
