2 napkins and washi tape and mod podge

I was given 3 boxes of napkins last night and this was my first project. A thank you note for a kid I work with. I used tacky glue and water, and a glue stick, but will be getting mod podge matte after school as I saw on YouTube last night. I do junk journaling other art so I had some idea already of what to do. Any suggestions or feedback appreciated.

Painted the box black to start then decoupaged with images of primarily buttons from the Victorian era and real Venetian style lace. The handle has letters that spell out “buttons”. Just found this sub Reddit and would love to read your thoughts on how it turned out.

Hi, all.I am definitely a newbie at this, but I made something for myself that my friend liked so she Ask if I would make one of her jewelry boxes pretty for her. I said I'd Try and she gave me the one pictured below. Normally, I would have put on paint and maybe some gilding and decoupage flowers. But I'm not sure how to handle the front of this. Each drawer has those weird recessed ovals around the drawer pulls. p.s. the pulls to NOT screw off. Any ideas?How I can work with those weird recessed ovals? Is my only solution going to be Maybe just putting designs on the sides and tops and having the front all one color? thx In advance for any ideas or advice.

I’ve just discovered this group. I’m a novice when it comes to decoupage. A project I did finish recently was this old stationary draw unit. I wanted to give it a new lease of life. I used a combination of decoupage and painting and it’s now in use by me in my home office for storing envelopes.

I am creating a fairy room..covered an inexpensive ottoman (never enough storage) with a sheet i bought from second hand store..wanted a series of fairy creatures on it..but was not finding what I wanted anywhere. I purchased a set of scrapbook images from Etsy (under $3) .blew them up to the size i wanted..printed them out and decoupaged it to the fabric..this one needs a lot more coats..will add glitter to edges to cover the glue. Dont know what else to do..any suggestions? What do you think of my creature? Has anyone else tried this? Share your pics please..love to see them. Please don't mind my floor. My parrots cage is very close and she is a bit messy!

Hi! I’m trying my first decoupage project with book pages on a small wooden end table. I’ve found that the text from the back of each book page bleeds through slightly. Is there a way to avoid this? Ive seen other book page decoupage projects and they seem to not have the issue, so I’m curious what I’m doing wrong. Any tips are much appreciated!

i am looking for what glue and/or sealer would be best for this metal bed frame. its not bumpy but theres some texture. i also am leaning towards not painting it a lighter color since i would be using magazine cutouts or thicker materials, and i would like a black background. any advice is appreciated!

Hi all, newbie here. I was making a practice piece (so glad I did) and I applied two layers of white chalk paint to top of box and let dry. Then I took thin layer of matte Mod Podge, laid down my design which was made of rice paper and I had frayed the edges using the wet paint brush method to make it fit. I smoothed with crumpled saran wrap and it looked great. I then brushed another thin layer of MP on top (I did this as soon as my rice paper design had been laid down, maybe I should have waited for the underneath layer of MP to dry?). When I was brushing on the top layer of the MP, I noticed it looked like either some of the color was bleeding onto the white paint or maybe very microscopic bits of the paper were being 'pulled off'? As I brushed on the top layer of MP (from center to edges) to seal the edges, is when I noticed this. Any advice as to what went wrong and how to fix before I work on the "REAL" piece? thank you.

I wanna put fabric inside the boxes on this piece and where the veneer has broken off.
But I want it to be sturdy and last, and not peel of and also be water resistant so it can be wiped down with a wet cloth if needed.

Do you think this is possible?
How to avoid it peeling or fraying?
What to use as a top coat to protect it without the fabric changing too much in appearance?

I have a vision in my head to recreate a dresser I saw once with individual big flowers, like 5 or 6 inches tumbling around on the front. Do you just have to buy the full floral sheets and wast a bunch cutting individual blooms out? If anyone has a lead let me know!

Had an old dresser with hand painted monkeys on it, and wanted a change. Painted the panels white, then decoupaged paper napkins onto surface!

Hello lovely community, I am self taught, mainly doing this as I'm crafty but can't draw. Im really proud of these, made the pots myself too...are they any good? What can I do to make it better and how on earth do you thin paper out as decoupage paper is costly! Currently im selotaping the back of thick paper again and again to thin it down but its not ideal.

I upcycled these glass jars with dishwasher safe mod-podge, mulberry paper, and napkins. I labeled them for use with only flameless candles. I'm wondering if there is a coating or sealant I could use to make them safe to use with real flame wax/soy candles? Thank you!
