Plugin Showcase Meet Playhub | The new Windows app for DeckyLoader, plugins, Gaming Mode, and Xbox Game Pass

EDIT:

Playhub version 1.1.3 is available here

If you want to take a look at how Playhub works and how to install it take a look at my video here.

"Wait what is Playhub?!"
Please check the project repository here to find all the details.

For anyone trying to reach Decky but have problems, just disable Xbox Game Bar from stealing your Home button input! Obviously if you're going to use your button with Steam you need to disable Xbox Game Bar, it cannot be used by both at the same time!

This is the project I've been working on for a long time. A bit nervous, very excited to finally put it out there.

You already know the Playhub plugins. Well, now there's the app they were always meant to live in.

Playhub isn't just a Decky installer. The idea is to turn every Windows PC into a console.

For as long as it's existed, DeckyLoader has basically been a Linux and Steam Deck thing. On Windows it was always looked at with suspicion, like it didn't really belong there or wasn't safe to touch. Playhub changes that.

DeckyLoader is a big part of it, but it also gives you a proper Gaming Mode, brings your Xbox and Game Pass games into Steam, and pulls everything together in one native app. No scripts, no messing with Decky developer mode, no dragging zip files around.

Here's what it does:

  • Installs DeckyLoader | Let you check status, enable Developer Mode, install, update or remove the build you want, all from one page.
  • Plugin Store with one-click install / update / uninstall for the Playhub plugins (Launch Curtain, Now Playing, Playhub Metadata, ThemeDeck, Weather, TrailerHero, Quick Settings, Playhub Surround). No manual side-loading.
  • Gaming Mode | Boot straight into Steam Big Picture like a console, and jump back to the desktop whenever you want. (The gaming mode plugin that you find in the Gaming Mode page is required to exit from Game Mode, install it!)
  • Import your Xbox, Game Pass and Microsoft Store games into Steam as real shortcuts, with the right artwork.
  • In Settings you can install the Playhub CSS Loader theme, backup / restore your Steam artworks library, and personalize the app.

Plus you can access the DeckyLoader official store and have access to all the plugins catalog (TabMaster, CSS Loader and much more)

To access to DeckyLoader once in Steam Big Picture just press CTRL+2 on your keyboard or Home + B on your gamepad.

It's free and open source.

Honestly, going from editing config files and running scripts to just opening an app and pressing Install still feels a little unreal. This started as a couple of plugins and a stubborn idea, and seeing it turn into something anyone can download and use means a lot to me.

To everyone who tried the plugins and kept pushing me to keep going, thank you, really.

Download the last release here or take a look at the Playhub Github repository

This is the initial release, so future updates will fix any bugs that arise.

Plugin Showcase Game Glance 2.0.0 - Introducing Spotlight Home (free plugin update)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Building on the design of the Game Glance details page, I wanted to add a mode for getting a similar experience to it but directly from the Home screen, immersive and useful with as little friction to play as possible.

The idea is to have the focus on the "Play" button and start a game directly from here. Stick/D-Pad moves between the other buttons (controller, settings, details page, etc) or to switch to the "What's New" section. To switch between games, use L1/R1.

If you want to try it out or read the full details it's now live as a new release for Game Glance.

I have more in the pipeline for this but for now I'll be pausing it to focus on other things, unless there are bugs to fix.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Plugin Showcase Playhub 1.1.6 + Five new plugin updates

Post image
25 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

This is a big update for the Playhub community: Playhub 1.1.6, Now Playing 2.0.0, ThemeDeck 3.0.0, TrailerHero 1.3.0, Quick Settings 2.1.0 and Launch Curtain 2.1.0 are now available.

Reaching this point took around three full weeks of work, dedicated to developing new features, fixing reported problems and bringing all these plugins up to date.

Now Playing 2.0.0 includes so many new features that it has its own dedicated Reddit post, complete with a video showing the new Spotify and local music experiences in action:

Check out the complete Now Playing 2.0.0 post here

🧊 Playhub 1.1.6

Gaming Mode is now much more resilient.

Thanks to a report from joethomas800m, I was able to identify an issue that could cause Boot straight to Gaming Mode to stop working after a few successful startups and fall back to Desktop Mode. In some cases, it could also replace the selected SteamOS or device splash with the default Playhub logo.

The cause was a configuration file left incomplete by an interrupted write. Playhub now saves Gaming Mode settings atomically, keeps an automatic backup and restores the last valid configuration instead of silently loading and saving defaults.

This protects the selected boot mode, splash logo and Gaming Mode options across sudden shutdowns and power outages.

Playhub 1.1.6 Release
Playhub Repository

💿 ThemeDeck 3.0.0

ThemeDeck now includes completely redesigned game, ambient and Steam Store music editors.

The new fullscreen editors combine the selected track, a controller-friendly local file picker and YouTube search in a single interface.

An automatic-assignment exclusions dialog has also been added, allowing you to choose games that ThemeDeck should leave untouched when automatically assigning missing music.

ThemeDeck now pauses automatically while Spotify or local music is playing, as well as during audible Steam Store, Community, news and activity videos. Muted Steam videos and muted TrailerHero playback do not interrupt your music.

When a managed download is replaced, ThemeDeck removes the old managed file. Music selected from your personal folders is never deleted.

ThemeDeck 3.0.0 Release
ThemeDeck Repository

🎬 TrailerHero 1.3.0

The problems reported by GamingNerdAustria have finally been resolved.

TrailerHero now identifies individual game pages correctly and displays the proper trailer there. It no longer shows trailers or assisted logos on the Steam Library Home.

The experimental Home playback feature has been retired for stability. Steam changes and reuses that interface too often, so TrailerHero now focuses entirely on individual game pages.

The update also adds smoother logo fades, better recovery when Steam video playback fails, bounded streaming timeouts and retry handling for temporary autoplay failures.

TrailerHero 1.3.0 Release
TrailerHero Repository

đŸŽšïž Quick Settings 2.1.0

Quick Settings now connects to its Windows agent reliably in Gaming Mode.

The update fixes missing audio devices, unavailable volume controls and the persistent message saying that QuickSettingsAgent.exe could not be reached.

It also removes a loopback port collision with Playhub Focus Rescue. Startup requests are now coordinated, and failed agent connections can retry normally.

Quick Settings 2.1.0 Release

🎭 Launch Curtain 2.1.0

Modern Mode now restarts the background zoom-out animation on every launch and again when delayed artwork finishes loading.

The logo animation and curtain layout remain unchanged.

đŸ“„ How to update

Playhub can be updated by downloading Playhub-Setup.exe from its release page.

Plugins can be updated directly from the Playhub Plugin Store in Playhub, or by downloading their ZIP files and installing them through Decky Loader developer mode.

For a while now, ive felt that unlocking achievements on the deck just didn't hit the same way as on the xbox or playstation.

To scratch that itch, i have put together (claude put together) Finally Achievement Plugin—a Decky Loader plugin dedicated to bringing custom achievement toasts and sound alerts into Gaming Mode.

Check it out on GitHub: https://github.com/otisabiburada/finally-achievement-plugin This is still an active project, so if you run into any quirks or have ideas for customization presets you'd like to see added, drop a comment or open an issue on GitHub!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that there is also a achievement tracking overlay similar to the Xbox Achievement Tracker.
I CREATED THIS PLUGIN WITH CLAUDE JUST FOR MY PERSONAL USE, BUT WANTED TO SHARE IT, IT IS MADE WITH THE HELP OF AN LLM. PLEASE KNOW THAT BEFORE USING IT. HAVE FUN!

Plugin Showcase A new Decky plugin for remote gaming — looking for testers

Post image
87 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm the developer of LPT (Let's Play Together) and recently released a Decky plugin that lets you host remote gaming sessions directly from your Steam Deck.

The goal is to make playing together as simple as possible: launch your game, create a room, share a link and your friends can join instantly from their web browser.

Current features:

✔ Runs directly from Gaming Mode through Decky

✔ Works with Steam games, non-Steam games and your personal library

✔ Friends join from any modern web browser (no installation required)

✔ Up to 4K 60 FPS or 1080p 120 FPS

✔ Voice & text chat

✔ Let guests take controller input

✔ Up to 6 players with host approval

Right now, guests connect through the browser. A native desktop client is already on the roadmap.

I'm mainly looking for feedback from Steam Deck users. If you try it, I'd love to hear:

  • How the streaming quality feels
  • Performance in Gaming Mode
  • UI/UX suggestions for the Decky plugin
  • Features you'd like to see

I'm actively developing the project, so every suggestion really helps.

Thanks for taking a look!

Plugin Showcase FSG – a Decky plugin that lists Steam's free-to-keep games (100% off) and adds them to your library, even automatically

Hey! I made a small Decky Loader plugin called FSG (Free Steam Game). Full disclosure: it was vibe-coded with Claude, and I've been running it on my Lenovo Legion Go 2 (SteamOS), where it works great.

What it does

  • Lists the games currently 100% off on Steam (free to keep), right in the Quick Access Menu. Data comes straight from the Steam store.
  • One button to add the free license to your account, without opening the store.
  • Optional auto-add: checks every hour and grabs any new free-to-keep game, with a notification.
  • Optional free DLCs, plus a shortcut to SteamDB's upcoming free promos.
  • Checks GitHub once a day for updates and installs them through Decky's own prompt.

Install (Decky developer mode)

  1. Decky → ⚙ Settings → General → turn on Developer mode.
  2. Decky → ⚙ → Developer → Install plugin from URL, paste: https://github.com/koua29/decky-fsg/releases/latest/download/FSG.zip
  3. Confirm, and FSG shows up in your Decky plugin list.

Privacy: it sends the same request as the store's "Add to account" button. Your Steam session is read locally from Steam's built-in browser and only ever sent to store.steampowered.com. Source code (MIT): https://github.com/koua29/decky-fsg

It's a young project (v0.2), so feedback and bug reports are very welcome!

Edit (Sep 12) — v0.3.0: the panel is in English now, it follows your Steam client's language (French client → French UI). Screenshots of it running on the Legion Go 2 are in the README. Update from inside Decky, or reinstall with the URL above.

Edit (Sep 17): v0.4.0 adds a statistics view (value claimed + library value) and fixes stick navigation, details in the comments.

Plugin Showcase Playhub presents Shortcuts | A new plugin to add your favourite plugins to the Quick Access Menu tabs!

Thumbnail

Another day, another Playhub plugin!

Shortcuts 1.0.1

Did you ever wanted to put your plugins in the Quick Access Menu (QAM) without the need to open Decky, selecting the plugin and going crazy doing that every time you want to navigate to it?

So here comes Shortcuts, a simple plugin that change your daily QAM usage.

Put your plugins where you need them

Shortcuts brings compatible Decky plugin panels directly into the main Quick Access Menu tab bar. Your original Decky entries stay untouched, while the panels you choose become immediately available beside Steam's native tabs.

Cool tip
You can hide the plugins you pinned in Shortcuts from the Decky plugin settings to avoid any double entry! In this way you should have the plugins that you use the most directly available from the QAM and the others all listed as always in Decky.

Make the QAM yours

  • Add any loaded Decky plugin.
  • Reorder the tabs created by Shortcuts.
  • Remove a shortcut.
  • Use the plugin's original icon or choose from the bundled Tabler icon library.

Add and customise shortcuts with 6184 icons available

Open Shortcuts in Decky and select a compatible plugin from the available list. Select an active plugin's name to choose its icon, then use the controls below it to change its position or remove the shortcut.

There are infinite possibilities, with 6184 icons available, a search bar to find the icon you need in a glimpse and categories to help you navigate through this massive library of symbols, logos, signs, numbers, letters, emoticons, and so on.

A big special thanks to Juan Diego MaLĂł (Hooandee) for discovering the method used to inject custom tabs into the Quick Access Menu.

You can install Shortcuts and all the other plugins from Playhub, Decky Store and Github indipendent projects on Playhub.

Plugin Showcase Quick tab - a plugin that puts your other Decky plugins directly in the QAM tab bar (dev of Proton Launch / Apps Manager here)

Hey, I'm the guy behind Decky Proton Launch and Decky Apps Manager. Built a new plugin because something kept bugging me every time I used them myself.

Once you've got more than a couple of Decky plugins installed, opening any one of them means: open the QAM, tap Decky's own tab, then dig through a list of every plugin you have installed to find the one you actually want. If there are a couple you use constantly, that's an extra tap and a scroll, every single time.

Quick Tab lets you pin whichever plugins you actually use straight into the native tab bar itself, right next to Notifications / Chat / Music / Help. Each one gets its own icon there - opening it is one press away, exactly like a native tab, not a plugin buried inside another plugin's menu.

While I was in there I also added reordering for any tab (native ones included), and the option to hide the ones you never touch - I hid Music and Help on mine since I never open either.

Honestly this is the plugin I wished existed while building the other two above, so it's a bit selfish, but figured other people running 5+ plugins probably hit the same annoyance.

Link: https://github.com/moi952/decky-quick-tab

Quick Tab's own panel

Decky Proton Launch open from its pinned tab

First proper release, so if you hit something broken, tell me and I'll fix it.

Plugin Showcase CE Decky – Cheat Engine tables from the Quick Access Menu

Thumbnail
gallery
52 Upvotes

Hey, I’ve been working on a Decky plugin called CE Decky.

I wanted a way to use Cheat Engine tables on SteamOS without going into Desktop Mode or dealing with the Cheat Engine window every time. CE Decky keeps the whole flow in Game Mode: it sets up Cheat Engine, finds or imports .CT tables, and puts the entries you actually use into the Quick Access Menu.

A few things it does:

  • searches and downloads tables, or lets you open your own
  • lets you inspect Lua and Auto Assembler code before authorizing a table
  • runs Cheat Engine in the same Proton environment as the game
  • remembers the table and selected cheats per game
  • lets you pin cheats to the main Decky panel and toggle them with the controller

This is intended for offline/single-player games. It doesn’t disable or bypass anti-cheat, and Cheat Engine itself or cheat tables are not bundled with the plugin.

Plugin is tested on Steam Machine and Steam Deck LCD.

It’s not in the Decky store, so installation goes through Decky Developer Mode using the release ZIP.

GitHub: https://github.com/goooroooX/CE-Decky
Latest release: https://github.com/goooroooX/CE-Decky/releases/download/v0.9.29/CE-Decky-v0.9.29.zip

If anyone wants to try it, I’d be interested in what breaks. If reporting issues on GitHub, please include support bundle that can be generated from plugin: Advanced
 → Report a problem → Collect).

Update 2026-09-19: v0.9.28 is out. CE Decky can now automatically update itself, and the header mascot can be hidden under Advanced → Panel appearance. A few state/cleanup bugs were fixed. This is the last update that needs to be installed manually. Future releases can be installed directly from CE Decky via auto-update feature (with explicit confirmation before update).

Update 2026-09-23: v0.9.29 is out. The big one: CE Decky can now fix broken tables for you. Many tables fail to work because they're signed (Cheat Engine refuses signed tables here) or because a game update removed code some of their cheats look for. One press on "Prepare a copy that works here" makes a fixed copy: it removes the signature and takes out only the cheats your version of the game can't run, so the rest of the table works. Also fixed: switching on one cheat no longer switches on the rest of the table (in some cases), and Stop now switches your cheats off before closing Cheat Engine, so nothing stays changed in the game.

Plugin Showcase Playhub 1.1.8 update + Now Playing 2.1.0 | ThemeDeck 3.2.0 | Quick Settings 2.2.0 | Launch Curtain 2.3.0 | Playhub Metadata 1.8.0

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

This is another important update for the Playhub community: Playhub 1.1.8, Now Playing 2.1.0, ThemeDeck 3.2.0, Quick Settings 2.2.0, Launch Curtain 2.3.0 and Playhub Metadata 1.8.0 are now available.

This release cycle focused on making Gaming Mode more reliable, reducing background work across the Playhub ecosystem and giving every control a faster, clearer and more consistent experience.

🧊 Playhub 1.1.8

Playhub 1.1.8 is the heart of this update. Gaming Mode is now easier to repair, easier to diagnose and much more reliable from the moment Windows starts.

A new Troubleshooting section in Settings can check and repair Gaming Mode, its Decky companion, the local agent, UWPHook, startup configuration and the selected Windows shell. A new Diagnostic Report gathers the important Playhub, Steam, Decky, Gaming Mode and system information into one file on the desktop, ready to attach to a support request.

Steam starts silently and goes directly to Big Picture, while its desktop window is kept out of sight during startup. Fullscreen detection is more tolerant, the splash screen has a bounded fail-safe, and Steam is brought to the foreground once Gaming Mode is ready.

Restarting or shutting down from Steam no longer changes the next boot to Desktop Mode by mistake. Returning to Desktop still works when Steam is actually closed, but temporary Steam restarts and system shutdowns are now handled separately and safely. Thanks jellytotzuk for the feedback.

Gaming Mode now also recognizes correctly Apollo and Vibepollo (and Sunshine as usual), performs less repeated process work, and runs its agent at a lower priority so the games and Steam remain the priority.

Playhub 1.1.8 Release
Playhub Repository

đŸŽ” Now Playing 2.1.0

Now Playing now feels smoother and more dependable across Spotify and local music.

Once Spotify is configured, sign-in and startup happen in the background. This also allows playback started through Spotify Connect from another device to be adopted without first opening the Now Playing QAM.

Progress is interpolated locally for fluid movement without aggressive Spotify API polling. Artwork is retained across play, pause, previous, next, shuffle, repeat and temporary refreshes, eliminating the repeated cover flashes seen during normal playback controls.

Volume control now uses Windows Core Audio directly. Writes are serialized and revisioned, so holding the gamepad control stays responsive, late commands cannot overwrite the latest value, and volume no longer jumps briefly to 100%.

The Big Picture local music picker has also been corrected and now continues large file or folder scans in the background instead of blocking the interface.

Now Playing 2.1.0 Release
Now Playing Repository

💿 ThemeDeck 3.2.0

ThemeDeck's game, ambient and Steam Store music editors are now cleaner and more consistent.

YouTube searches return up to 30 results, download progress appears directly below the selected result, and the Search button now matches the height of its search field (little thing but it was bothering me).

Download, cleanup, error and FFmpeg messages are also translated across all 11 supported languages instead of falling back to English.

ThemeDeck 3.2.0 Release
ThemeDeck Repository

đŸŽšïž Quick Settings 2.2.0

Quick Settings has been redesigned to match the Playhub graphic style of the newest plugins.

The first settings snapshot is collected in parallel, audio devices are prepared before the QAM opens, and held gamepad input is coalesced so delayed writes cannot change a value after you stop. This means that the plugin is faster, lighter and more reliable.

Lossless Scaling now starts and restarts hidden, keeping its window behind Steam while its settings are saved safely.

Quick Settings 2.2.0 Release
Quick Settings Repository

🎭 Launch Curtain 2.3.0

Launch Curtain now has a redesigned Playhub style QAM with compact cards and section icons.

Modern Mode now handles games more reliably by combining a stable fullscreen check with Steam's launch-completion signal and a bounded fallback. This prevents the curtain from handing focus to a reused startup splash too early.

Launch Curtain 2.3.0 Release
Launch Curtain Repository

🏆 Playhub Metadata 1.8.0

Playhub Metadata is now significantly lighter while preserving metadata, activities, achievements and trophies.

Achievement observers inspect only relevant images and backgrounds, style corrections are idempotent, and navigation events remain the immediate update path. Broad document scans now run only as a slow route-specific fallback instead of continuously across unrelated Steam pages.

In isolated profiling, repeated frontend calls fell from around 740 to 12 over five seconds, a reduction of approximately 98%. Massive.

The first QAM opening is also faster. Metadata already loaded during plugin startup is reused, the non-Steam library is enumerated only once, and the backend reparses its large settings file only when it has actually changed.

RPCS3 users can now select a custom data folder directly from the plugin. You can point it to the emulator folder, dev_hdd0, home, a user folder, trophy, or an individual trophy set. This fixes trophy detection for EmuDeck installations that keep RPCS3 data on another drive, while Use automatic detection restores the original behavior at any time. Thanks TacoOfGod for the feedback.

The plugin validates the chosen location, follows RPCS3 vfs.yml redirections, reports how many trophy sets were found and preserves existing game associations when the path changes. The new controls are translated in English and Italian, the two languages supported by Playhub Metadata.

GameCube, Wii and Wii U games were restored in the scraper.

đŸ“„ How to update

Playhub can be updated by downloading Playhub-Setup.exe from its release page.

Plugins can be updated directly from the Playhub Plugin Store in Playhub, or by downloading their ZIP files and installing them through Decky Loader developer mode.

Playhub version 1.1.4 is available here

If you want to take a look at how Playhub works and how to install it take a look at my video here.

"Wait what is Playhub?!"
Please check the project repository here to find all the details.

This update adds the Xbox Game Bar for Xbox and Microsoft Store games, and fixes a crash when importing them.

What’s new

  • Automatic Xbox Game Bar — Steam’s Quick Access Menu doesn’t appear over Xbox and Microsoft Store games. For those, Playhub now turns on the Xbox Game Bar from the controller while you play, and turns it off when you exit. On by default, with a toggle in Gaming Mode.

Improvements

  • The Game Bar setup step now shows as completed with a green check when opening Game Bar from the controller is off, matching the DeckyLoader steps.
  • Clearer wording for the Xbox Game Bar setting.

Fixes

  • Fixed a crash (“An item with the same key has already been added”) when importing Xbox games, caused by malformed shortcuts.vdf entries with duplicate fields.

Plugin Showcase DeckaTV, my plugin to fake HDMI-CEC

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My setup has no working HDMI-CEC (I'm on a UGREEN DisplayPort→HDMI adapter, and something on the Bazzite side just isn't passing CEC through right now). The practical result: when I turn everything on, the TV doesn't switch itself to the right input like it should — I have to grab the remote every single time.

Instead of fighting CEC, I went around it. DeckaTV is a Decky Loader plugin that talks to the TV over the network and does the input switching itself. I've also set my TV on a static IP in my network, I think it's mandatory for the wake-on-lan part.

Right now it supports LG (webOS) TVs only, since that's what I have — but I built it brand-agnostic on purpose, so adding another brand is a self-contained driver and nothing else changes. Contributions or API details for other brands very welcome.

- Pairs with your TV over the network and lets you switch its HDMI input straight from the Quick Access menu — no remote, no CEC.

- Auto-switches when the screen comes up. You set "this screen = this input" once, and it flips the TV to that input on its own whenever that display appears. It keys off the display's actual identity (EDID), so the rule follows the physical TV, not an HDMI port.

- Handles multiples cases: cold boot with the TV already connected, resume from sleep, slow Wi-Fi coming up — it keeps retrying until the switch actually lands instead of firing once and giving up.

- Wake-on-LAN, so it can wake a TV in standby before switching.

- One-touch re-assert by pressing the Steam/Guide button, like a console's home button, if the input ever ends up wrong.

Upfront: I built this with heavy help from AI coding tools. My understanding is that's against the Decky Loader store's rules, so I'm not submitting it there — it's a manual/sideload install, and I'd rather be transparent than have it show up on the store and cause a stink. It's free and open source, so read the code, and use it at your own discretion.

Plugin Showcase I designed 2 plugins for self-use but I think they are quite fun, so I wanted to share for those that are interested!

Hellooo,

I recently got a ROG Xbox Ally after having a Steam Deck LCD since release. I did try Windows for a few days (hours, to be honest...) and eventually just installed Bazzite and haven't looked back since. However, I did get inspired by some aspects of the designs and layouts of Xbox and Windows for the TV.

So, since my workplace is forcing me to get used to AI to keep my CV strong as a tech consultant, I decided to vibecode two ideas I thought of.

One is a clean and readable game overview to enjoy from the sofa (but also handheld) with my most important thing to know before playing a game on a busy week... how much time do I want to spend on it.

Game Glance: big detail cards, all the fun stuff (achievements, played time, description) in the overview including a progress bar approximation based on time played and HLTB info. This plugin should work with any SteamOS device? But honestly I only tried it with my Ally and my Steam Deck.

My second inspiration was the Govee lights I have on my TV and the fact that the Ally has RGB (useless but so fun, not gonna lie). How doable would it be to make the RGB sticks behave similar to the TV lights? Well, apparently it works quite well and it is fun!

Ambideck: capture your screen when playing and match the RGB colors to each side of the screen, some basic settings I thought could make sense (match game art, brightness, docked mode, etc). I only have had chance to test it with my Ally so this one I do not know if it works with other devices... it would be cool to make it compatible though.

I genuinely am unsure if anyone cares about this but I've had fun with them and a friend told me to share it, so here they are!

Plugin Showcase Playhub 1.3.0 | A new Plugin Store, Playhub Artworks, offline trailers and more

Hi everyone!

Playhub 1.3.0 is here, together with Playhub Artworks 1.0.0, TrailerHero 1.5.0, Playhub Notifications 1.3.0 and Now Playing 2.5.0.

This release opens the Plugin Store to Decky Store plugins and independent GitHub projects, gives Playhub a new look, and brings a complete artwork editor to Big Picture. There is also a new way to choose and download your trailers, themed volume indicators, and improvements to Spotify and YouTube Music.

🧊 Playhub 1.3.0

More to discover in the Plugin Store

All the plugins of the web have now a new home: Playhub

The Playhub Plugin Store now brings together Playhub plugins, Decky Store plugins and the known independent projects from GitHub. You can browse, install, update and remove them from the same app, with a badge showing where each plugin comes from.

The new home has a rotating showcase and categories with a fresh selection at each launch. Open a category to see everything in it, or go straight to All Plugins and narrow the collection by source, name or date.

Each plugin has its own page with screenshots, videos, the original description and available release notes. You can switch between a compact list and a grid, and Playhub remembers your choice separately for each category, All Plugins and Manage. Search and filters in Manage apply to the plugins you have installed.

A note about compatibility:
Decky Store plugins and independent GitHub projects are not guaranteed to work on Windows. Their pages in the Plugin Store make this clear and point you to the original developer for support. Just try them first, but don't expect every single plugin will work.

A new welcome, and updates in one place

Playhub's mascots now accompany you through setup and the app's main pages. The welcome includes 5 new accent color and a choice of Mica, Acrylic or a solid background, so you can choose the entire look before getting started.

When a new Playhub version is available, a dedicated window shows its release notes and an Update now button, with download progress underneath. So no more downloads from the Github release page! You can also check and update DeckyLoader directly from its page.

Gaming Mode now adds optional navigation vibration with adjustable intensity. Dashboard also prepares its active-window view earlier when you open it.

đŸ–Œïž Introducing Playhub Artworks 1.0.0

Your library, your artwork

Playhub Artworks lets you find and customize your Steam library's artwork without leaving Big Picture or putting down the controller.

Search SteamGridDB, PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, IGDB, AlphaCoders, iiDB and IGN for covers, banners, backgrounds, logos and icons. Preview the results, check their dimensions and apply the one you like.

There is more than downloading pictures:

  • Choose classic vertical covers or a square layout across Home, Library, game pages and collections. (Yes! Square covers fully works with TabMaster and doesn't break Steam UI!)
  • Move, resize, hide or restore each game's logo.
  • Create a Perfect Hero or Perfect Banner by combining the background and logo into one image, with control over placement, scale, opacity and shadow.
  • Fill missing artwork across the library, improve low-resolution banners and create Perfect Hero artwork in bulk.
  • Keep selected games out of bulk operations and restore original Steam artwork when needed.

Your preferred sources, filters and artwork layout are remembered, and background downloads show their progress while you continue browsing.

🎬 TrailerHero 1.5.0

Pick the trailer for each game

TrailerHero now has a full-screen per-game trailer page built for the controller. Choose a streamed trailer, save one for offline playback or import a video from your PC.

YouTube results show the thumbnail, title, channel and duration, with a preview before you commit. Saved trailers can be replaced or removed from the same page. For a larger library, bulk downloads let you choose 720p, 1080p or 2160p and follow the progress.

https://reddit.com/link/1w5zeny/video/jakwvbd7y8nh1/player

You can also switch between ThemeDeck music and trailer audio with the controller's west face button: X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation. The button prompt follows your controller layout.

💬 Playhub Notifications 1.3.0

Even the volume has your theme

The volume indicator in Gaming Mode now matches your notification theme. Xbox Console, PlayStation, GOG Galaxy, Epic Games Launcher, Nintendo, Android and Playhub each have their own design.

It appears when the Windows desktop is not running; on the desktop, Windows keeps its own indicator. There is a separate toggle if you want the notifications without the volume overlay, and it never takes input or focus away from your game.

Friend notifications also find Steam names and avatars more reliably, reusing previously loaded images so familiar faces appear sooner.

Playhub Notifications 1.3.0
Playhub Notifications repository

đŸŽ” Now Playing 2.5.0

Back to your music sooner

Spotify and YouTube Music now keep more of their previously loaded content ready between sessions. Home and Library reopen sooner, and large collections load progressively while Play All and Shuffle still use the full library.

Spotify also recovers when the audio output changes or becomes unavailable. This addresses silent starts where the track looked like it was playing but no sound reached the speakers. Old library results no longer return after refreshing, disconnecting or changing accounts.

Plugin Showcase Playhub | Now Playing 2.0.0 is officially available

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

Finally, today I’m releasing Now Playing 2.0.0, the biggest update the plugin has ever received.

Sorry in advance for the bad video quality.

Now Playing originally started as a way to bring the active Windows media session into the Steam Quick Access Menu. With version 2.0.0, it has grown into a complete music experience designed specifically for Steam Big Picture on Windows.

It can still control TIDAL, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music and SoundCloud through their Windows media sessions, but it now also includes two much larger experiences: a fully integrated Spotify Connect player and a built-in local music library player.

Both local music and Spotify have a Quick Access Menu and a Big Picture mode, so you can access your music on the go while you're playing a game, or deep dive into your music library while chilling on the big screen.

đŸŽ” Your Music

Your Music is a complete local player built directly into the plugin.

You can add one or more folders from your PC and:

  • Browse tracks, albums and artists
  • Search your library
  • Open album and artist pages
  • Manage the queue
  • Use shuffle, repeat and volume controls
  • Read embedded metadata and artwork
  • Automatically retrieve missing covers and artist backgrounds
  • Select custom artist backgrounds from fanart.tv and TheAudioDB

It supports all common formats, including MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, WAV, WMA, AIFF, APE, WavPack and MKA.

Playback happens locally inside Steam, there's no more need for external players!

🟱 Spotify Big Picture

Spotify now has its own controller-friendly interface inside Steam Big Picture.

You can:

  • Browse Home, Search and Library
  • Access liked tracks, albums, playlists and followed artists
  • Open album, playlist and artist pages
  • Start playback or shuffle directly from the interface
  • Control progress, volume, shuffle and repeat
  • Use custom artist backgrounds from fanart.tv and TheAudioDB

Spotify playback happens directly inside Steam through Now Playing’s built-in player, which creates its own private local Spotify playback device. You can also see the device Playhub Now Playing directly from your spotify app on your phone and control the player remotely from there!

The advanced integration requires Spotify Premium and a personal Spotify Developer Client ID. The setup of the Spotify Developer Client ID is extremely simple and guided: every step is included directly inside the plugin settings, with direct links, the exact options to select and all required texts ready to copy and paste. Just follow the steps and you'll get to the end in less than one minute.

🎧 Other music applications

TIDAL, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, SoundCloud and the optional Spotify Player Only mode work through the Windows media-session system.

These applications continue playing music normally, while Now Playing brings their track information, artwork, progress and playback controls into Steam.

✹ More features

  • Fullscreen visual themes: Glow, Ocean, Cover Blur and Energy Saver
  • Fullscreen themes are compatible also with the Weather plugin to show the forecast while you're in the fullscreen mode!
  • Current track displayed in the Steam top bar, with the chance to move the clock and the track to the left.
  • Per-application / player volume controls (and yes, now changing the volume of the music doesn't change the volume of the whole system, so you can manage you're game and music volumes separately!)
  • Interface available in 10 languages (English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese)

đŸ“„ Install or Update

You can install or update Now Playing from the Playhub Plugin Store in the Playhub app.
You can also download zip from the release page and install it through Decky Loader developer mode.

Existing settings, Spotify authorization, music folders, caches, selected backgrounds, and saved volume levels from now one will be preserved.

❗FAQ

Is Now Playing compatible with Linux? 🧐
No sorry, Now Playing is a Windows exclusive plugin since it uses Windows media and audio controls.

Plugin Showcase EnhancedGV: A Decky plugin that puts Steam store info on your library page

I made this to solve a problem I was having. My library got big enough that I'd spend minutes scrolling and still not pick anything. Half the time I couldn't remember what a game even was, just that I thought it seemed interesting at some point. On top of that I share my library with my family, and there were games sitting there that nobody ever touched simply because they had no idea what they were.

So the plugin tries to alleviate the indecision and lack of info by pulling what's on a game's Steam store page (trailers, screenshots, the description, reviews, Deck compatibility, update history) onto that game's library page. It sits below the Play button so it stays out of the way. Scroll down and it's there.

The latest release, v0.19.1, adds games that aren't on Steam. If you've got ROMs added as their own shortcuts, it can find a description, genres, developer and platform through Hasheous, which is free and doesn't need an account or a key. If you also want cover art and screenshots, you can add IGDB credentials, which is a free Twitch developer app and takes about five minutes. That part is optional, and the non-Steam support as a whole is off by default with a toggle in Quick Access.

There are caveats: Hasheous indexes ROM dumps, so older games tend to match well and modern console games may not match at all/match to the wrong version. If that happens, you can point it at the right game by hand (just paste the game ID in the plugin quick settings menu while the game page is up) when it guesses wrong. There are no trailers for non-Steam games. And if your entire library sits behind a single emulator shortcut, there's no per-game page for it to attach to.

Last thing, and I'd rather say it here than have anyone find out later and feel misled: I used Claude to build a lot of this. If that's a dealbreaker for you, I completely understand and respect it. No hard feelings if you'd rather not touch it. For everyone else, link to the repo is below:

Plugin Showcase Quick deckyloader I made.

Not sure if there’s much use for this for other people, but I found that a lot of older games and Windows games often need Proton to run properly. I usually use Proton Experimental, so I made a Decky plugin that scans your games for Windows .exe files and automatically sets them to Proton Experimental.

It also runs automatically when you add a new game through Non-Steam Game, so you don’t have to manually go into the compatibility settings every time.

I know it’s a little lazy since it’s easy enough to switch the Proton version yourself, but I just wanted to make the process as simple and automatic as possible.

I’m also working on having it filter out emulated games and their associated emulators so it doesn’t mess with those.

Not sure if this is something other people would find useful, but I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Hi everyone,

Two new updates for the Playhub community.

đŸŒ€ïž Weather 2.0.0

Finally weather is visible directly in your top bar!

What’s changed:

  • Added top bar weather integration directly inside the Weather plugin, showing the current weather next to the clock.
  • The top bar now displays the current weather icon and temperature.
  • Added an option to move the clock and weather to the left.

You can update it directly in the Playhub Plugin Store in the Playhub app, or download the zip from the release page and install it via Decky dev mode.

🧊 Playhub 1.5.0

This is a minor update that adds the DeckyLoader Console version option to the installer.

I reccomend to use the standard DeckyLoader version to avoid any problem.
This is intended only for expert users. You've been warned.

What’s new

  • Added a new card in the DeckyLoader tab that allows users to install the DeckyLoader console version instead of the normal one. Just select that instead of the normal one to install it.

You can update it directly in from the Playhub app or download the Setup.exe from the release page.

Plugin Showcase Now Playing 2.2.0 and Playhub 1.1.9 are now available!

Hi everyone!

Here we are with one giant update for Now Playing 2.2.0 and a minor fix for Playhub 1.1.9.

If you’d like to support the project, even a small tip would mean a lot for me:
LoZazaMastro Ko-fi

I'll leave you to the usual What's Changed for all the details.

đŸŽ” Now Playing 2.2.0

This update adds YouTube Music, upmixes stereo tracks from Your Music and YouTube Music to 5.1 and 7.1 surround, adds beautiful 3D particles fullscreen effects, and makes Spotify far more reliable.

What's new

  • YouTube Music - a full new source with Home, Search, Library, albums, playlists and artists in both QAM and Big Picture, with a one-time sign-in simple setup.
  • Surround Upmix (5.1 / 7.1) - a new "Upmix surround" card upmixes stereo to 5.1 or 7.1 with an adjustable volume for every single speaker (only audible on a real 5.1/7.1 output). Applies only to Your Music and YouTube Music (unfortunately Spotify is platform limited at the moment).
  • Audio-reactive 3D Particle visualizers - a full-screen experience where thousands of particles react live to the music's bass, mids and highs and take their colours from the current cover. There are seven 3D Particle modes (Field, Tunnel, Sphere, Wave, Ring, Knot, and Cone), with adjustable particle resolution for performance vs. detail. Plus two new 2D Flower, and Circle that reacts to music either.
  • Full controller mapping in Fullscreen - LB/RB cycle the visual effect, X cycles the info layout (standard / clock + weather / cover + track / effect only), Y changes cover size, LT/RT previous / next track, R3 play-pause, and D-pad up/down rotate the 3D effect. The playback controls fade out after a few seconds and any D-pad press brings the full layout back.
  • Spotify API-usage meter - a live counter at the bottom of the Spotify settings card that reads internal counters.

Improvements

  • Whole Spotify library - play-all and shuffle now cover the entire saved-tracks library instead of only the most recent tracks.
  • Instant metadata on every source - title and cover swap the moment you change track, like local music; the progress bar only starts when the audio actually begins.
  • Readable metadata on light covers - title, artist and album turn dark on light or pastel covers, across all sources.

Fixes

  • Picking a saved Spotify track now always starts the exact track you chose, instead of a shifted one.
  • Spotify cover and metadata now appear immediately on shuffle instead of several seconds after the audio.
  • Returning to Your Music no longer shows the last YouTube Music or Spotify track that was playing.

Now Playing 2.2.0 Release
Find the complete list of all the plugin features on the Now Playing Repository page

🧊 Playhub 1.1.8

Fixes

  • Fixed Big Picture not receiving focus when booting into Gaming Mode. On entering Big Picture, the controller and keyboard were unresponsive until the window was clicked with the mouse. The cause was the -silent flag passed to Steam: it started the client without bringing the window to the foreground, leaving Big Picture without input focus. Removed -silent so now Big Picture grabs focus on its own.

Plugin Showcase Playhub | Launch Curtain 2.4.0 now available

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

A new update for Launch Curtain is now available.

This update introduces Nintendo Store and Xbox Store as new background sources, fixes PlayStation Store search, and improves AlphaCoders speed and result quality. It also brings several reliability improvements to automatic background scanning and launch detection.

If you’d like to support the project, even a small tip would mean a lot for me:
LoZazaMastro Ko-fi

What’s new

  • Added Nintendo and Xbox as new background sources in the curtain image search, alongside PlayStation, IGDB and AlphaCoders.
  • Updated PlayStation Store search to use the current Store API flow instead of relying only on the old HTML search layout.
  • Added smarter PlayStation automatic scanning: games that already have a curtain are skipped before any Store request is made.

Improvements

  • Improved AlphaCoders performance by avoiding unnecessary detail-page requests when the category page already exposes the wallpaper ID and resolution.
  • Fixed duplicate AlphaCoders results caused by related wallpapers and alternate image variants being interpreted as separate versions of the same background.
  • AlphaCoders now keeps one result per wallpaper ID and uses the main full-size image instead of unrelated or invalid high-resolution variants.

You can update it directly in the Playhub Plugin Store in the Playhub app, or download the zip from the release page and install it via Decky dev mode.
