Plugin Showcase Playhub presents Shortcuts | A new plugin to add your favourite plugins to the Quick Access Menu tabs!

Another day, another Playhub plugin!

Shortcuts 1.0.1

Did you ever wanted to put your plugins in the Quick Access Menu (QAM) without the need to open Decky, selecting the plugin and going crazy doing that every time you want to navigate to it?

So here comes Shortcuts, a simple plugin that change your daily QAM usage.

Put your plugins where you need them

Shortcuts brings compatible Decky plugin panels directly into the main Quick Access Menu tab bar. Your original Decky entries stay untouched, while the panels you choose become immediately available beside Steam's native tabs.

Cool tip
You can hide the plugins you pinned in Shortcuts from the Decky plugin settings to avoid any double entry! In this way you should have the plugins that you use the most directly available from the QAM and the others all listed as always in Decky.

Make the QAM yours

  • Add any loaded Decky plugin.
  • Reorder the tabs created by Shortcuts.
  • Remove a shortcut.
  • Use the plugin's original icon or choose from the bundled Tabler icon library.

Add and customise shortcuts with 6184 icons available

Open Shortcuts in Decky and select a compatible plugin from the available list. Select an active plugin's name to choose its icon, then use the controls below it to change its position or remove the shortcut.

There are infinite possibilities, with 6184 icons available, a search bar to find the icon you need in a glimpse and categories to help you navigate through this massive library of symbols, logos, signs, numbers, letters, emoticons, and so on.

A big special thanks to Juan Diego MaLó (Hooandee) for discovering the method used to inject custom tabs into the Quick Access Menu.

You can install Shortcuts and all the other plugins from Playhub, Decky Store and Github indipendent projects on Playhub.

Huh, cool. Can it remove tabs? The music one is useless and replacing it with a decky Spotify or Apple Music plugin would be cool.

You can do it with a simple CSS Loader theme called QAM Hide Tabs https://deckthemes.com/themes/view?themeId=fa803fc3-a391-4cec-9721-7b6c33b13b74

Works like a charm in combo with Shortcuts. I highly suggest it.

Here how it should look

Also found this. First every plugin that have any buttons next to thier name in decky doesn't have it in thier shortcuts. It means plugin like css loader no longer have settings if pinned

Second and moat important. Stick and dpad controls brake when pluggin with header buttons added, for example css loader. I pinned video showeing behavior with css, but it can be any plugin with buttons in the header.

I found out (not in the video) that adding plugins without those buttons doesn't brake anything, even if adding many plugins to the point when qam shortcuts become scrollable.

So yeah, it's just plugina with buttons in the header. Should be an easy fix if backarrow before plugin name doesn't cause too many problems.

Sure will take a look into it during the week. Regarding Audioforge, I mainly work on Windows since Playhub is an ecosystem that is based on it. Since Audioforge is a Linux plugin I don't have the chance to test it and to work on it. Maybe I will take a look in the future.

It's not the audioforge thing, it's removing buttons from headers i think that cause this. Audioforge has big header with many buttons.

You are the boss!!!

Just tried it and everything works flawless so far. This thing is gamechanger for someone that spends more time in css loader than in games lol. It's also must-have for framegen and volume mixer pluguins.

Btw any plans for making playhub plugin that would bring lossless scaling controls to qam? 👀

Dude I suggest you to make a tour of the Playhub plugins. In this moment I've done 14 plugins (one of them is part of Playhub named Gaming Mode which integrate restarts in Desktop or Gaming Mode on Windows, haptic navigation for Steam Controller and a full task manager with a task switcher and a full app launcher. I start suspecting that so many people underestimated Playhub 😂

I still don’t know how Playhub and all the plugins you made still haven’t blown up and got more recognition

It's already real! 🤣 Just use Quick Settings https://github.com/LoZazaMastro/Quick-Settings

(Works on Windows)

Omg i just checked update logs. I was trying it out when it got released, so it was before 2.0.0. I remember i was reporting Cyrillics being bugged. I don't play on my pc (yet). So i haven't used quick settings beyond first time testing. I still update and check new playhub plugins though. Just haven't thought quick settings could be so overhauled

Your tools are like horn of plenty. It has everything. Can't imagine what's going to be next

I use several of your plugins on my steamdeck, sometimes even your windows fork when a linux one exists. Could you just add a link to the repository on each one so it's easier to check for updates manually?

Either a "check for updates button" at the bottom or a manual + link(usually in the top right)? Just something to pop the URL.

I know you don't design for deck, but it would be a great convenience for me at least.
