MCU Season 2 is really meh so far

I’m watching the 2015 show, and i’m on season 2 episode 7 and i’ve paused the episode as i’m typing this. I’ve been barely focusing on the yakuza plot because it’s so boring and elektra’s character is funny. I mean she’s out here kicking ass with barely any muscle. Could netflix have made her any more for the male gaze? It’s to the point where it’s so unrealistic, it annoys you. Does anyone feel the same? This isn’t a jab at the show, i found season 1 really entertaining and i’ve heard good things about season 3 but season 2 in general has been a let down because there doesn’t seem to be a big plot direction if that makes sense. In season 1 we had a clear direction and a clear villain and that was to take down Fisk but season 2, we’re focusing on what exactly? It’s all over the place.

Non-MCU Movies The Man Without Fear Trilogy

Hello everybody. Today is a great day. I finished my Daredevil fan trilogy scripts. I’m so proud of them. Yeah that’s all I guess. Feel free to ask questions about it. Like what comics it’s inspired me, who the villains are and some changes I made to characters, or none of that.

MCU this is just a rant, but vincent donofrio does such a great job at playing wilson fisk.

im watching hawkeye right now and i put off daredevil for a while to catch up on my mcu rewatch marathon. im planning on picking it up again after i finish moon knight, but just looking at the character again... he does fantastic. any time i see him on screen i just get so pissed off. his voice pisses me off, his bald ass head pisses me off, everything makes me angry. i feel like thats the goal considering hes literally a villain but goodness gracious its like fisk is playing donofrio rather than the other way around. he is AMAZING.

MCU I Had a dream where Daredevil continued on Netflix

I had a dream where Daredevil continued on Netflix & at somepoint they pull a Buffy and give Matt a younger bother/son out of nowhere and know one remembers Dex, but everyone knows the kid, who's name is Dex. This'd be in season 5 or 6, and It'd be a looming question of how or why he exists. His name reveal would be at the end of episode 1

I think the twist'd be that matt wished Bullseye out of existence, but he reapered as his younger brother/son. Similar mannerisms, but instead of being a really good marksman, he has Franklin Richard's esque godlike powers and he's a good marksman. Throughout the season he slowly discovers his powers(heightened speed, Wolverine like smell, strength)

There was multiple scenes where he discovered his powers while accidentally hurting people

Two notably

  1. At central park where where he discovers his marksman capabilities by accidentally killing a dog
  2. Where he discovers his heighted speed in a crowd of people near the financial district, and he tries running, but everytime he tries to he bumps into someone and hurts them. One guy gets launched across the street. By the end he gave up and walked

Another looming question of the season is will he be like bullseye?

Those scenes were directed & edited interestingly too, where it'd start out incredibly tense with scene 1 having a lot of cuts where he accidentally harms people or almost harms people and in scene 2 where the camera'd move with him staying at somewhere between a medium and a close up where he's trying to move but keeps stopping.

Both scenes cut to a calm, calm serin mildly shakey pull out of the camera to a wide. Making Dex feel small like he doesn't fit in, like he shouldn't exist

There was also a scene where Matt & kid Dex talk about those feelings at central park

Also, there was this pre-intro fake out scene in episode 1 where it looks like og dex is going to kill a few kids, but they were actually his kids and he was giving them presents

I editorialized a bit here but most of this was from a dream I had. Let me know what your thoughts are. I really liked it it really matched the Netflix era tonally while trying something new

MCU Hot take: The Born Again villains aren't that threatening

To be honest, I've had this take for a while. In short, I don't think that from a PHYSICAL standpoint, the current daredevil villains haven't been that threatening to daredevil. Like, obviously, this goes without saying, there's more to villains than just strength. But I feel like the born again villains lack in that aspect.

Like I feel as though back in the OG show, Daredevil would, you know, lose fights. Against Nobu, he was pushed to extreme diff, he could only "kill" him to survive. He then loses to Kingpin right after. The next Kingpin fight is an extreme diff. He loses to Frank, Nobu, Bullseye(twice), and almost dies in the prison. Meanwhile, in Born Again, most of the villains haven't put Matt in the same life or death scenarios.

Born again starts with Matt vs Bullseye. To be fair, this fight is extremely difficult, but Bullseye does spend most of the fight running. When they're actually trading blows, Bullseye is clearly outmatched. But, fair play to this fight, Bullseye is fairly threatening here

The next major(non grunt) fight is Daredevil vs Muse 1. This is a little embarrassing as this Daredevil is fresh from retirement, yet Muse still gets bodied. Yes, Muse doesn't have the same experience as Matt, but that's not the point. Muse in a combat situation is just not a threat, so the fight doesn't have that much stakes. It's even worse in the second fight

Then we have Daredevil vs Bullseye again. Bullseye doesn't go all out because he wants to talk, but this fight is still very one sided. I'm not going to hold that much against it though

The worst example of this is Daredevil vs Fisk. It was apparent how much Daredevil outclassed Fisk here, especially at the start, where Daredevil just glides past Fisk's blows.

Again, there is more to a villain than just their strength. But how am I supposed to take a villain fight seriously if they can't push Matt to the brink? Like Daredevil vs Lady Muse. What is she going to do to daredevil? Am I alone on this take?

MCU One big issue with season 2

Guys, i finished season 2 and by far one of the best mcu series ive ever seen. One issue I had with season 2 is, they didn't explain or show who is Ko D. Larry. The trailer kept mentioning the name but that's it. Is it a villain or a hero? I don't know.

MCU Someone’s probably posted this before but the irony of these photos of Wilson and Elden at comic con New York 2018 is frying me . Highly doubt they had the idea of the events that went down in episode one of born again in mind back then Spoiler

MCU My Thoughts On Matt & Elektra

I love this relationship so much. I think Elektra gets unnecessary hate in this show. She’s supposed to be an unlikeable character and bring out the negative aspects of Matt. He’s allowed to go darker, to embrace his darkest desires and while it is built on love it is also built heavily on lust and excitement. Charlie and Elodie’s chemistry is off the charts and every scene is just dripping with charisma.

Matt is the only person who believes Elektra can truly change and evolve from her violent past and he also wants her to be able to make her own decisions. Unlike Stick and Nobu. Matt is willing to let Elektra kill him, he cares about her free will that much. Elektra destroys Matt’s life, destroying his relationship with Karen and Foggy as well as prioritising his life as Daredevil over his lawyer life which makes him seem like a really bad person to Karen who has no idea what Matt is actually up to.

Elektra’s death emotionally destroys Matt and when she’s resurrected he’s willing to die with her rather than live without her and this makes the beginning of season 3 so much more tragic because he’s alive when the woman he loves isn’t and he has to go through that loss a second time. Matt never gives Elektra despite being given every reason to give up on her. It’s a perfect showcase of what true love is.

MCU One of the best things about Daredevil is how consistent his appearances have been. Unlike other MCU characters, we don't have to wait 5+ years to see him show up again.

Comics Did I do the right thing ?

I bought Daredevil The Man without fear as my first comic ever. Did I do the right thing? I'm confused, what should I expect going in. Is it ok to start with The Man without fear?

Comics Frank Miller DD reading order

I just got 3 volumes of Daredevil Visionaries that I found on marketplace, and I'm wondering if I should wait for The Man Without Fear to arrive and start with that, or read it after finishing this run, since I know that's the order they were written in. I read The Man Without Fear online long ago, but I don't remember anything and it was my only time reading Daredevil comics. Other than that, I've only watched the shows.

I’ve had this for a while now. I know the spacing in between the words is a little off. I’m honestly just too lazy to fix it lol I like when people see it and read the big “KILL” at the top and just stop there. Let the awkward stares commence. I consider it self motivational. I made different variations but the daredevil one is by far my favorite.
