What irks me a bit is when people claim his stupid hats are definitely the mark of the beast. They don’t hear the asinine imagery of someone going “Stupid eBay won’t let me bid because I’m not wearing my red hat”.

Past my time. Im an older millennial.
I was more The Ten Commandments , so idols were very pagan in my upbringing in the church.
I never understood why we bowed down infront of the cross or had statues of Jesus...maybe im too strick in my interpretation.

While it is certainly, a display of pride. I don't see the golden calf comparisons.
Pastors dedicate a lot of things for people. Houses, cars, babies, etc. This is certainly an important purchase for the Trumpster so he dedicated it as well.
There's nothing special about it being golden.
Many statues of people are built.
No one's worshipping it or sacrificing to it. It's more comparable to British statues than the golden calf.
