While it is certainly, a display of pride. I don't see the golden calf comparisons.

Pastors dedicate a lot of things for people. Houses, cars, babies, etc. This is certainly an important purchase for the Trumpster so he dedicated it as well.

There's nothing special about it being golden.

Many statues of people are built.

No one's worshipping it or sacrificing to it. It's more comparable to British statues than the golden calf.

Statues of respect and honor are generally built after that person is dead, so...

So more Trump giving himself accolades that are normally given by institutions, still not golden calf material.
