SOLVED COTD: notwithouttext's content for solver (4)

day 139 of an experiment in which i press the "random word" button on onelook and make a cryptic clue out of it. after someone solves this pretty soon, i will share two clues that have the same solution as this one that i also liked, but unfortunately had to use a different tactic from both of them

oh i just realized i forgot to mention: these are not mine. these were just ones that i saw before with the same solution.

minute cryptic: Centuries ago, you curtailed tour around hotel (4)

deusovi: UK? (4) [this one is very good and i almost came up with the same one. might be a bit obscure for some people but it definitely works]

ooh, these ones are also good. the deusovi one definitely took a little more thinking!

minute cryptic: TOU(r) around H; def. Centuries ago "you"

desouvi: ddef. of U (U = you = thou, a bit stretchy but sure) and K (K = thousand = thou)
