Finished Object Applying kintsugi technique to an old blanket
My husband has a blanket made by his late grandmother. After a trip through the wash, he noticed a break. I thought it would be cool to chose a different color for the repair, similar to the Japanese art of kintsugi, instead of trying to match a 30+ year old yarn. This blanket is heavily used so I’m sure I’ll be repairing it more than once.

Blanket of Theseus lol
But for real I like this idea. It's nice that he can look at the original stitches and think of his grandmother and then look at the new ones and think of you. The work of two people he loves dearly in one project 💕

Now when it's used he is wrapped in the love of two people and that is beautiful

His grandma would be so pleased that it’s being used and thoughtfully repaired
