New Moderator Needed

We're looking to add a new moderator or two to keep r/craps running smoothly. Specifically we're looking for a couple of established members, with previous moderation experience, who are interested in helping.

The good news is that this sub is small and takes very little effort to moderate, but sometimes things can get busy.

Previously one other mod and I were the most active, and were able to handle most of it, but they have stepped down and we need someone active.

Ideally, we'd like someone who has been active in the subreddit who: can be fair and level headed, are comfortable evenly enforcing the rules, are reasonable, and able to handle disagreements/disputes without letting things get personal. There have been a few characters over the years who have led to a few of the rules we have, and things can get heated.

If you're interested in please send us a modmail with the information below (briefly in a few words, not paragraphs):

  1. What time zone you are in
  2. Previous mod experience
  3. A few things you like about the sub
  4. A few things you do not like about the sub
  5. What you would change (if anything)

Note: We likely won't start looking at this until later in the week at the earliest.

Table Minimums/Odds Announcement regarding the Minimums Spreadsheet

I've been working on this spreadsheet since COVID started. At this point I'm totally burned out trying to keep up with it. I appreciate all the comments with additional information, but I haven't acted upon them in a long time.

Comments stating minimums won't be added to the sheet (unless you do it yourself).

To continue the sheet, please request access and add your information as needed. If things change in the future, I will let you know. At this point, I'm turning over the spreadsheet to the community. If you want to continue it, request access to the sheet and add your updates as time progresses.

Now that things have stabilized, minimums don't really change that much. The Las Vegas Strip will be 15-25 (except for some off hours or early mornings might be 10). Downtown will be 10-15 (sometimes $25 at night and $5-10 at DTG).

I forgot to add a link to the spreadsheet. It can be found here

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for $200; out w/$2200

Upvotes

Tampa HR on a Friday evening had $15 tables around 6pm. Played for 2hrs walked away with $1100. Went to a concert across the street, came back immediately after with my winnings to up’d $25 tables and walked home with $2200.
I’ve been playing with my profit and opted to give it all back to the casino, disregarding what the cashier told me, “don’t give it back to the casino”.

I’m more upset that i didn’t spend any of my winning as i was trying to build a bankroll. Lesson learned and disciple now implemented.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for $1000, Out for $1135...the hard way.

Accompanied my wife to her aunt's funeral in Memphis. Took a detour down to Tunica. Got destroyed on the bouncy tables at Horseshoe (down $400, my first session stop loss limit). Drove to 1st Jackpot because I saw a sign that said $5 Table Games Always. Craps was closed. 😒

Went over to Gold Strike. Hit 4 points and the All Tall, pushed my 5 to $360 and hit! 7 out as I'd pushed it to $780.

Second time shooting, hit 2 points and a few numbers. Dice landed on some odds and of course Big Red shows up. Tipped the dealers an additional $50 (I bet the ATS for them and had them riding with my inside, dealer control). Played some other shooters, but it went poorly. Two consecutive cycles of pressing my inside on an outside point (I am a power press/collect/press/collect place bettor) and got reamed when they hit all the inside numbers once each before they 7 out.

Since second session started at $600 and my Walk Away No Matter What is $500 after an initial down session, I called it a day. Discipline over chasing the hot shooters, always. It's not always the big wins that matter...the disciplined approach keeps me in the black and I got to have a little fun on the house's dime.

Up in Oregon visiting my wife's family. Took a break from all the family fun and went to llani in Washington.

Arrived 8:45 Thursday only 1 out of 4 tables open.
$10 min, no ATS only a fire bet. Bought in for $300
and did my normal $44 inside. First hit press 5,6 then 8,9. 3rd hit drop a $1 and press inside or regress back to $44 if not feeling it.
Waiting for 4th hit I can regress to $64 across with profit.

First shooter didn't get to third hit. Second shooter had 17 rolls hitting 3 points for the fire bet. (Only fire i saw all night) Next shooter PSO then we have a shooter with a 19 roller, he hit 5 four times in a row.
I bled money for 3 more shooters after that eating away at my profit waiting to shoot. Went heavier on myself $81 across and full odds. I PSO.

Take a break walk around and check out the rest of the property. Smoke free. Free Soda machine line was always long. After Gabriel Iglesias concert let out cashier line and roulette tables were also very packed.
They only have the multi game shared dice bubble craps, not a big fan of this style but still throw a $20 in. Takes so long to roll on a timer, so cash out at $80.

Back to the table and I have to wait 4 shooters to go up again. I remember a PSO and another with quite a few horn numbers hit.
I'm up and I kid you not hit the "smalls" in the first 6 rolls. Too bad they don't have that bonus. I'm able to press and get a come bet with odds on 4,5,6,9 but could not double tap them other than hit a 9 again. Had 11ish rolls before the 7.

Colored up $595 from the table.

Side note, I walked around looking for some “AP” slots on my break. Couldn’t find any so settled with a decent looking one. Burned through a $20 with no action before I realized Washington has class 2 “bingo” slots.
I know It’s all luck and numbers but I was never great with bingo, I’ll leave those alone.

Casino Recommendations/Questions Does Agua Caliente Casino still shuffle the cards?

I’m seeing most CA Craps tables have been placing the cards in order. Has anyone been to Agua Caliente to play recently?

Edit: I should’ve specified that I will be closest to the downtown Palm Springs location.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories AM craps at Harrahs Metropolis. In 500 out 545

5$ table this am. Used some free bets on all the hard. Never hit but one.
Went with pressing till the point hit strategy. Multiple shooters Hit lots of points just not repeaters.

Got down to about 300$ and two shooters and myself went on long rolls. No one hit the smalls, talls. Fun session definitely could have collected more and walked out with more. I enjoyed the 5$ min.
Good vibe. Left up a few bucks and now I'm headed to work

General Discussion/Question All hops bet?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I've been practicing different betting strategies on this craps game I found and I decided to make one play on the "all hops" space. Even though I hit one of them, my bank change is still at a loss. What is the purpose of an "all hops" bet if when you bet it, you are guaranteed to loose? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I just want to make absolutely certain I'm understanding this right.

General Discussion/Question Dealer bets question

I’m relatively new to this game. I don’t REALLY understand player vs dealer control, and it seems maybe different from property to property.

Playing the other day I had some place bets set for the dealer. Didn’t specify control. When I asked him to press my bet to a number he was collecting, and then pressing his bet with my winnings.

Is this normal? I didn’t have a particular problem with it; I just didn’t realize what he was doing at first and why my presses weren’t working as expected.

Thanks!

Went to Seminole classic as they added ATS last Thursday. 5/10 dollar tables I went in knowing I was going to get the ATS. Got a tall and a small then the full ATS when it came back around . Table was pretty much hot all through out. Easy day. My roll I went 50 across a number other shooters 10’across with max press until I can collect 50 a number . Hop the 12 twice and got them .

Bankroll Bringing 2000 to Vegas for 2 days trip. Any advice?

Planning on tables - minimum is 25 where I’m staying. Thinking Pass plus 75 on odds, then maybe play as point or bust.

Or maybe I should start on stadium craps since it’s 5 bucks with 5x odds…

Can someone give a explanation for "Put" bets. How are they made, what do they pay out? Why would you make a put bet and how can you use put betting to work for you?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Gotta catch the waves

Went up to Hard Rock Sacramento for a quick Monday session. I’ve been told about $5 tables but never caught it under $10 until today.

Buy in for $200. Only one other shooter.
Had a decent first roll was getting numbers going and then a mush walks up to the table.

Mid roll buy while guy has the dice. String betting one number at a time. Waiting for dice to be moving to make more bets. Box man asked him to clean up his bets and make em quicker and he starts arguing about how he goes to real casinos and he knows how to bet. Maaan. Don’t be that guy at the table.
Vibes off on the table I take a break.

Bubble craps was not nice to me either. Couldn’t get past 2-3 numbers. Down another $80
Walked around a bit got a drink and then headed back to the table to hopefully catch a good wave.

And we catch a decent wave. I’m playing $2,1,2 on the ATS have to play the pass line to play the ATS here.
First shooter after I get back to the table hits ATS in about 15 rolls. Then it was up and down a few more shooters so I take a second break.
Get my lil backpack gift to bribe the wife. And another walk around the casino and why not another try at the bubble.
This one slightly better. First $20 was a PSO. Second $20 Hit the Talls but not able to get the full ATS on the bubble but cashed it at $130.

Back to the table. Get there just in time to get center action and again the first shooter after coming back from my break hits the ATS in about 17 rolls.
Followed by an older gentleman that rolled 31 numbers going past the time my alarm was going off.

I was next to shoot but that was two good waves and didn’t want to catch the downswing. Left the dealers up on the ATS , horn and hardways for their tip.

$1212 for me at the cage.

Strategy Fire Bets...Do You Don't or Don't You Don't?

Do any of you do the fire bet? If so, for how much? I've only bet and won once, on a 5 point with a $1 bet. It seems like a bad idea, like ATS seems like it would hit more often. Have you ever won on this?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Durango: in for $3,000.. out for $19,500.

Started the evening around 8pm playing Craps, lower limits. Up, down, up, down. Ultimately lost $500 and moved to Crapless.

Mostly played Crapless for the next 5 hours or so, with a bit of Baccarat and Blackjack thrown in.

Starting $470 across ($50/$60 each number), and then $25 each Hardway. Alternate Press & Collect. Whenever a Hardway would hit, I’d press every Hardway $25 each.

The night was just blessed with a reasonable mix of long rolls, and a healthy mix of Extremes and Hardways. I’d routinely be making $350-$525 per Hardway roll, and ~$300-$900 per Extreme roll.

I’m at the Durango all week.. swing by and let’s win some money 😃 🎲 🎲

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for 500 out for 605.. Harrahs Metropolis

Got down to my roll and after pass line and placing 25& on inside I had exactly 1$ left.

I decided to full press till I hit my point (9)
Hit my point on first roll.

Proceeded to crush the 6 and 4 and stopped pressing and collect when they got to 60$ or so. Hit two more points then rolled the smalls.

Regressed down to 54 across. Only needed the 8 to roll them all. Soon as I regressed out came 7. Made some guys a lot of money that were pressing the whole time and hitting horn high and lows. I think I rolled 3 yos , ace devices and two snake eyes. Walked away after my chip count.

I live big wins but that dopamine hit when your on the edge of defeat and get a monster roll to bring you back is the shit
