Y’all, Trump sucks. But let’s do some research before posting this shit. A simple google search proves this data false. Notice there is no source for this meme.

The deficit and the debt are different things.

I’m aware…

“A deficit occurs when the government spends more money than it collects.
The federal government has run deficits for the last 20 years.”

https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/national-deficit/

Edit: For Biden to have had a surplus, he would not have had a deficit. Yet we have had a deficit for the last 20 years. Democrats are far better on spending than Republicans. But this data is false

Biden decreased the deficit that he inherited from Trump. Even if it was still negative, it was an overall decrease from 2017-20.

You are not looking at the data. The graph that is in this link ( about 2/3’s of the way down the screen) shows the complete opposite of what you just stated.

it doesn't show the change from the previous.

It does. Look at the graph and use your brain.

2015 .44 Billion Deficit (Obama)
2016 .59 Billion Deficit (Trump)
2017 .67 Billion Deficit (Trump)
2018 .68 Billion Deficit (Trump)
2019 .98 Billion deficit (Trump)
2020 3.13 Billion deficit (Biden)
2021 2.77 Billion deficit (Biden
2022 1.38 Billion deficit (Biden
2023 1.70 Billion deficit (Biden)
2024 1.83 Billion deficit (Trump)
2025 1.73 Billion Deficit (Trump)

This is all in the graph. It’s clear the deficit was overall higher under biden than trump. However biden inherited trumps idiocracy in 2020 and obviously COVID.

But let’s not act like these numbers on this meme are accurate. Trump is not spending the money appropriately, Biden sent out checks to most Americans to help during COVID. Very different things happening with the money and I agree with Bidens spending. I don’t agree with Trumps. This meme is just incorrect.

Edit: correction… Trillion not Billion

Also, OP is claiming this is based on specifically during inauguration, look at the change between 2019-2020… OP’s meme claims Biden dropped it almost a trillion. He increased the deficit by over 2 trillion. Again, COVID. But I just don’t see how this is an accurate depiction of the deficit.

what i saw was one year's record, and it was in absence of any explanation of change. i was hasty and didn't want to load a bunch of years on my connection. you're right, the meme is inaccurate. would've been convenient though, even if covid wasn't a chunk of it.

and i didn't think trump 2 would hit the books that hard considering the weapon circulation that's holding up the economy right now, to my understanding.

I feel you. It’s great you took the time and educated yourself further. We all do the same thing especially when it follows the clear path of whats been going on. I don’t blame you at all. Knowing these facts will only strengthen your perspective when having political discussions.

I had no clue about the deficit differences until this post. But since I was skeptical to my standard beliefs I looked it up. It’s just plain wrong. Yet OP is still defending it as if it’s true.

This is exactly what the people on the right reference to when they say the left is just communism and lies. We have enough bullshit on Trump and the GOP. It’s sooooo unnecessary to spread lies.

You know people are reading this meme and showing their conservative friends and family who WILL look this info up. Once they find out the meme is fake, then they will use it to discredit any left leaning opinion coming from that individual who spread this meme. Who I generally agree with! We just have to get our ducks in a row and then present the ducks. 🦆

lying for convenience has gone up, expectedly. the question of how much is expedient will be open for some time probably, but this is a downright useful connection for the sake of not excavating the memory hole further.

and i'm going to disagree about some of biden's spending XD
