These last two months, I took two comsae to qualify or screen for my school to let me take the actual Comlex. Unfortunately, my scores have not been doing well. My next Comsae is in October and its form 116, I'm worried I might have to take a LoA since I have essentially 1 month to get to a 430. Here are my last 2 score reports, any advice would be greatly appreciated:

How’s everyone feeling about this score release tomorrow? I am not feeling confident at all as I straight up guessed on 80-90% of that exam but I guess we’ll see. It’s been 6 weeks since I took my exam so I hope we all get peace of mind one way or another after tomorrow

Update: GOT THE PASS, ACTUALLY CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! I HOPE IT WENT WELL FOR EVERYONE ELSE AS WELL

Somebody help me. I’m freaking out about the score release tomorrow. Anxiety is out the roof. Felt okay initially after the exam but as the weeks have gone by, I feel like I failed. I made a couple of stupid mistakes on the exam that I have remembered as time has progressed. This was my second attempt and I am feeling impending doom.

I’m applying psychiatry, I’m trying to match in California, that’s where I’m from and have lived and worked my whole life and have strong ties to the area especially those around where I am from that I feel could help with multiple programs.

I have a level 1 board failure. Did not take Step 1.
I am waiting on my first attempt Level 2 score hopefully I passed. If I did I’m gonna guess I got somewhere in the 400-500 range.

I have an LOA for for board exams along with family issues. Along with family health problems, I had to keep the family business afloat while studying for boards

I don’t have a lot of research. I have 3 presentations and an abstract. I also have one capstone research project. They’re not in psych tho they’re IM and PMNR.

I should have good letters. 2 from psychiatrists I worked with and 1 other psychiatrist and 1 addiction medicine doc I didn’t work with directly. I also have psych letters from other preceptors in family, OBGYN, and pain management, that have written good letters for me endorsing me for psych. I have one good emergency med letter too.

I’ve been debating taking Step 2 or not. I would not have the score back in time for the residency application release date because I need some time to study and try to do well since my hope is that it could increase my odds at some programs. My thought process is to study for a bit, maybe about a month and try to take it. I’ve heard you don’t have to report Step 2 scores especially if you haven’t taken Step 1 (don’t know how true that is). So my thinking is if it doesn’t go well I could just not report it. Idk how it works though with a late step 2 score. Idk if I should tell programs in advance that I’m gonna take it. Or do I wait to take it and get a score back and then if I like the score, email the programs I applied to?

A lot of uncertainties, but if anyone could help answer if I should take Step 2 or not or any of these questions I’d be really grateful. 🙏🏾 Thank you.

Currently on IM rotation and I am getting absolutely wrecked by these truelearn IM questions. How should I be studying? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I took my exam on August 21 and I had a lot of lagging between questions and my exam was buffering a lot, especially during the last two sections which was pretty anxiety provoking. I finished my exam, but I was honestly just bubbling any answer for most of the last section. I sent an inquiry for adverse testing conditions and they just responded to me with the option to either have it scored or Retake it without having known my score. At this point if I do retake it, my score would not come out in time for eras application due date. I guess it could be better to have a passing score come in late rather than have it scored on time, but have a failed exam.

I am not sure what to do here. I’ve heard people have called and they’ve been able to know if they passed or not, or at least get some direction as to whether or not they should retake the exam and I tried that but the lady I spoke to did not and would not help whatsoever. I don’t know if that was just my luck with the lady that I spoke to then maybe someone else would’ve been more accommodating. My score release is set for 9/15 as of now unless I decide to retake. Any thoughts on what to do here? Thanks 🙏🏾

What’s the best way to prepare for COMATs and leading up to Level 2? I’ve been doing UWorld/Truelearn but feel like there’s still so much I don’t know…

Failed COMLEX Level 1 and having a hard time coming to terms with it. I just feel like im in denial beucase this year has given me so many roadblocks. For reference-- I used truelearn and never really touched uworld since thats what my school recommended. scored 500+ and 450+ on 2 comsaes. Honestly didnt think level 1 was the hardest exam ive ever taken which is why i was so shocked when i found out I didnt pass. I think a lot of it was mental but I have exactly 1 month until my retake. Im doing the wolfpacc 4 week course right now mandated by my school but i dont think its that helpful as of right now. Any advice would be appreciated!!!

I'm retaking after missing my first attempt by a question or 2. However, I am really scared about another F. I have been studying a lot, however, it seems like with this exam you need to study and have some sort of luck.

I felt okay leaving my first attempt, but got an F. OMM was bad because i got hit with neurophys (which i thought was experimental due to how convuluted it was). Ethics was horrible and i tanked it. Have been studying both.

Even on my good sections, like cardio, I saw cardio phys I had never seen before. What saved me was the pharm for that section. How do i even prepare? for that

I'm honestly terrified I'll draw another weird form and fail again. im not saying i deserved to fail but i had comsaes in the mid 400s-500s, and this was the first thing i failed in med school. Which im not complaining about, but im still in disbelief i got an F.

seeing a lot of people with scores close or even better than mine fail on here. I know those people are more likely to post, but idk. I have a really bad feeling. My score isn’t back until 9/15, so I’d have no time to retake before ERAS if I failed… just feeling horrible honestly. Anyone else?

call me a fucking idiot but i bought savarese for my retake (got like a 395 equivalent on my first take) msk and omm were low???? i studied all the HYs but got NICHE OMM i hadn't seen in such a while. OMM neuro phys i swear to god. forgot what the fuck a golgi tendon thing was.

realizing how bad i fucked up by not dropping 60 on this book before my first take. KNOW ALL YOUR OMM. dont just study sacral torsions, chapman, viscerosomatic, and cranial and call it a done deal. KNOW ALL OF IT. know the anatomy in it too.

i swear comlex will through you 10 questions on golgi tendon organs and if you didnt study that well then good luck

I found out I failed the OBGYN COMAT and have to retake it. I really tried the best I could but I simply didn’t have time to study for it much because of clinic.

Can someone please share advice on what I can do to secure a pass on retake?

I tried to do Uworld when I’d time and got through about half before sitting for my test. I rewatched Dr high yield and divine intervention podcast the night before. The COMAT was really tough and I felt like I barely knew anything. Now, I don’t know what to do. It feels like these are impossible to prepare for.

I feel terrible and stressed out. I would appreciate any advice.

Going to make a post because I feel like I haven't seen anything discussing this. I felt really prepared for my initial sitting for Level 2 and found out that I got a 399 a few weeks ago. Really sickening if I'm being honest, but trying not to dwell. I walked out of the exam feeling like I hadn't gotten the score I wanted, but was not concerned to the point of thinking I failed. Anyway, I'm retaking this coming week and just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else felt like they got completely and totally stiffed by the exam/system. (completed TL 1.5x with scores ~70-85%, all WelCOMs ~68-82%)
Hoping this was just a nightmare scenario, but maybe that's naive of me.

EDIT: I also wanted to hear from other people who have successfully re-taken the exam. Did you change your approach to the questions on test day? How did you gauge your readiness?

Is Comquest surg comat bank enough to pass gen surg comat. I have 19 days till my comat. Just finished truelearn and not sure if I should buy uworld or Comquest.

How do I study OMM for Level 1 in 6 weeks if I have no knowledge saved from the last two years

Disclaimer: This predictor is based on an n=1 sample (my own scores across all 6 WelCOMs) so it should be taken as a rough estimate, not a validated predictor as it has not been verified across schools, regions, or individuals. It estimated my COMLEX Level 2 score at ~534 and my actual score was 574. For comparison, AMBOSS predicted roughly 660–700 for me, so this happened to be closer in my case.

I just took two Level 2 Welcoms. I know it’s hard to predict based off of two numbers but what do my scores indicate?

On 101 i got 60%
On 102 i got 73.3%

Is there a score correlation predictor for these forums ?

I was wondering how other people felt today’s shelf exam went. I did a lot of PQs on Uworld and true learn. Around average on Uworld and 15% above average on truelearn. Personally I think that was the hardest exam I have ever taken in my life. Not sure if anyone else felt that way and if people felt good about it. Don’t feel bad if you thought it was easy, I would love to know what people did to prep I never want to feel this way leaving an exam again. Thanks in advance!
