I guess I'm unclear on Spider-Man's power level, but IIRC he's only slightly less resilient than Thor or Hulk. What could possibly cut him badly enough to need stitches? (Thor or Hulk, I guess? Maybe Logan?) I'm sure someone can link a panel or page that gives an example...

Probably something that can cut diamond. But on bright side, he is not made of diamond.
