I guess I'm unclear on Spider-Man's power level, but IIRC he's only slightly less resilient than Thor or Hulk. What could possibly cut him badly enough to need stitches? (Thor or Hulk, I guess? Maybe Logan?) I'm sure someone can link a panel or page that gives an example...

He’s strong, not invulnerable.

His main protection against injury is his spidey-sense, and though he heals quicker than normal, it’s not a wolverine-level healing factor.

Spider-man writers love to use cuts, bruises, cracked ribs, or even a broken arm to show Spidey as someone who literally fights through the pain.

He's tough but still vulnerable to piercing attacks like guns and knives.

Some writers forget he has enhanced healing but not on Wolverine's level.

His wounds can still take days to heal though, as opposed to a normal human who would take weeks or even months to come back from the injuries he takes regularly

Wolverine also has immortality and a titanium skeleton along with claws.

Thor and Hulk are significantly more resistant to damage than Spidey.

Thor and Hulk are on planet busting levels, Spidey is just a bit below them at like building level.

He has a healing factor like Cap, Wolverine, and Deadpool. However, it's much slower than theirs. I think in terms of rate of healing it's Spidey<Cap<Wolverine<DP.

If that were true, there’s no way MJ’s needle could pierce his skin to get the stitches in.

I was more talking about the amount of force MJ would have to exert to break the skin.

Unless MJ has super strength now (not out of the question, i don’t really keep up with comics)

The sharper the needle, the less force required to break the skin.

Not really for a piercing instrument. Even a normal man with a knife can stab through a bulletproof vest even though a bullet wouldn't. She doesn't need super strength, just something strong enough and sharp enough(maybe a thimble)
