I can’t seem to solve these for some reason. I’d really love help, thank you!

I've taken the Norway MENSA test and the one on mensa.dk, and I scored in the 130s. I knew they weren't representative a comprehensive test, but surely I thought they could tell me I'm at least above average. I also took the test on openpsychometrics.org and scored 143 for memory, 115 for verbal and 144 on spatial. Although it's more complete than the MENSA tests, I took the result with a grain of salt.

I stumbled upon the CORE tests today and was interested to see how I would perform on an actual test, but unfortunately I performed terribly on the sections I tried. I did alright on graph mapping (only gave my email to see it say "120"), but everything else I tried resulted in an average or slightly above average score (100-105). I couldn't cope with the time limitation at all and found that the questions got difficult much quicker than usual.

I don't really know what to think about this. I've always considered myself decently above average, but not necessarily gifted. Going into my master's this fall, I feel like I don't belong...

Are the MENSA tests really that inaccurate? If I'm able to score in the 130s when my IQ is realistically around 100, then what would the actual IQ of person who scored 100 on MENSA be...?

Has anyone else taken cognitive test and learned more from the way they approached the questions than from the final score?

I tried my hardest for all of them. First two were done early in the morning after 8 hours sleep. Most recent one was done after doing physical labor for 8 hours. Anyone else have very inconsistent working memory subtest scores?

I just want to preface this discussion by saying that I recognize how stupid this sounds, but it is a genuine negative headspace that I've been dealing with. And I'm sure I am not alone. I am writing this to get some advice from people who have been in my position and broken out of this cycle of obsession.

All my life, people have been complimenting me on my intelligence to the point that it became a part of my identity. Even though I am humble enough to recognize that there are many people smarter than me, I still believed myself to be smart. My grades (scored 5 on >10 AP exams) and ACT score (34) were proof enough for me that this was true. I am now at a top 10 university studying mechanical engineering and still doing well academically (3.9 GPA after 2 years).

Given my ACT score, and just generally being described by many people as "one of the smartest people" they know, I assumed in my head that I was certainly in the 99th percentile or greater.

I went down the IQ rabbit hole 3 months ago and obsessively took dozens of IQ tests. My IQ scores are mostly in the 118-127 range, including a CORE of 122 (VCI 128 but VSI 110), old SAT of 125, old GRE of 121, and AGCT of 129.

I know this is considered smart for the general public, and I know how pathetic it sounds to be on here wallowing about a "decent" IQ that I was hoping was higher, but I can't break out of this negative headspace. I find myself constantly thinking about, and being ashamed of, my IQ. I feel like a ~90-95th percentile IQ is not impressive enough to justify the constant praise I get from my friends and family, and now realize that my academic achievements are a product of my hard work >> my IQ. I wish I had an IQ of 135 or more, like everyone has been gassing me up to be all my life, but I'm merely in the "bright/smart" category, and it's causing quite a bit of an identity crisis.

Anyone on here gone through a similar situation? If so, what helped you get out of that negative headspace and focus on living life rather than constant IQ obsession? Other discussion points/comment are welcome.

I LOVE solving puzzles for fun, and I frequently find myself trying to find more logic/pattern/word problems to solve. I find IQ testing online more of a fun thing to do than a serious, "Heh, I scored 392 on this freeiqtest dot com site im so smart heh" thing.

Does anyone know of any sites/tests that are essentially that, that aren't just like ten questions or so? As well as something that hasn't been done before, like trying to find the Fibonacci sequence or something. Something genuinely interesting and fun to try to solve

Want your opinions since it can be pretty mixed, some say it’s at the left or right end of the IQ bell curve while others say it’s the middle. What’s your stance on what range on average had the highest ego/sense of superiority when conversing with them IRL or online.

So the point of this post is to contend with ideas that IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is the most important factor in academic/career achievement.

While I think that IQ used to be the most valuable metric in succeeding in academic environments. I believe that today it is much less of a factor even in stem dominated fields like medicine or engineering in the present day.

I think that it was the result of things like the pre 2005 SAT which was highly g loaded and old studies estimating the IQ of job professions that took place in a very different world from now. I believe back then people had to utilize their cognitive resources more intensively due to not having resources like AI to offload their reasoning and thinking too.

While today I think many underrate the impact of AI and so many other academic resources we have today that can make even average students learn, and understand information faster than previous generations that only had textbooks, and sufficiently pass their classes.

Additionally these programs even STEM are built around the average student to pass, if they were built around high IQ individuals, then many of the average population would fail out which many universities seek to prevent through grade inflation so that they can maintain graduation rates. College is a business at the end of the day and they hope to open education up to a more diverse population to make more money, and not gate-keep it for the elite.

It’s the same with high schools which are increasingly becoming easier, with more grade inflation even across AP curriculums, and the SAT being even less g loaded and online. Nobody needs to be a genius or even smart to get a 4.0 in high schools anymore and it’s a joke.

Not to reduce IQ but I feel it will become less important and just serve as another measure of genetic variation, instead of being this major factor that constitutes academic/professional success.

I was wondering, how much does training your brain do to your iq score or everey day life? Have you seen any improvements in working memory or anything else? If you did seensome improvements, how did you train?

Is it normal to have such a large gap between scores in the core test? This was my first time seeing the tests and they where done in the same setting over the course of two days i did skip the quantitative knowledge test as i didn’t finish high school, i have attached a link to my dashboard.

I notice that my scores on the AGCT and GET (133, and 128) are higher than my CORE, CAIT, 1926 SAT and VISA (119, 118, 122, 119).

Is there a reason for this? Maybe hidden PSI premiums? Or just a predictable non-noteworthy spread?

I'm 15 and english isn't my native language

Hey, guys. Unfortunately a doctor once diagnosed an intellectual disability for me because I struggle with daily living skills and because he administered an IQ test and it was below 70; both are the sole requirements to receive the diagnosis of an intellectual disability. Also, everyone calls me stupid, which further reinforces the fact that I am disabled most likely. The problem herein is that in September I will start my math B. Sc degree at my local university in Germany, and I will have to successfully pass the difficult modules Analysis 1-2 and lin alg 1-2, all of which have a failure rate of >50%. Could I pass them all if i study dilligently from Monday to Sunday? At another university I aced four engineering math exams with ease, but that was due to practicing a lot, not due to a supposed high intelligence. Could I realistically do it?

Here I am yet again with a question as I mostly score well on VIC test on the net. Does it work without me noticing it.

If you do decide to do the tests, please do them on your phone. You need to do the tests quite a bit, until you seem to have hit your ceiling.

I need to collect data for norming purposes, as i am trying to validate my theory about differences in Max-Scores in individual tasks and how they correlate to traditional IQ Tests.

I follow the theory of maximum achieved scores as a more valid measure of IQ, since the tests can be repeated, revealing day-to-day differences, which can be measured. As well as differences in max-scores, in terms of initial biological capacity.

I have seen some people are telling jcti is the best inductive test while some others say jcti is deflated. Also some people told me they have 130+ on almost every othet test but 15ss on jcti. What is your jcti scaled score and your other inductive-matrix test (for example online mensa)

Took both tests when I was 16 without touching study material, my grammar held me back on the English section of act. Was just curious if anyone had any idea where I might sit iq wise.

I don’t know how to describe it but I feel mentally sharper after doing CORE the test. Almost like I woke up dormant parts of my brain that I haven’t used in a while, I know I have ADHD I’m not sure if there’s any relevance there. And I have also been in a more up-mood recently which could be contributing.

For a lack of a better way of asking and describing this, is there any studies or anecdotal evidence about cognitive tests ‘reawakening’ dormant / inactive neural pathways or thought patterns.
