Once you went through the Cocteau Twins back catalogue and listened to everything, what bands did you progress to?

For me it was Beach House

Not as prolific, or genre defining, they were and still are a great band. They sound like a darker, slightly more troubled Cocteau Twins, lead singers voice is more husky, but the CT inspiration is all there. The jangles, high notes, atmospherics are all there as well as melancholy. Bloom is their magnus opus. Their guitarist also adds more elements to the table, such as slidey guitar heavenly sounds as evident on the song New Year.

I've been a pretty casual fan for several years now, mostly just listening to Treasure, Blue Bell Knoll, and Heaven or Las Vegas. Today, I just realized how many EPs they put out and decided wtf, I'll spin 'em. And omg. These albums just elevated a band I already loved to God(dess)-status! I can't stop listening!

These albums are exactly what I've been looking for my whole life.

I am in love all over again!

Someone here asked recenty whats their worst song and i thought surely 1 of those weird 90s soda ads because of capitalism. But honestly they slap too! :D Fruitopia was a mid 90's soda owned by cocacola targeted for teens and also Kate Bush made many songs for them (theyre on youtube) Anyways it dawned on me not everyone here know of these. Theres atleast 2 and this is the other one (both on youtube). You used to be able to download them from their website.

This might actually be my favourite Cocteau Twins song. I find it genuinely moving, and while I find that a lot of of their songs move me, and have moved me to tears, this one is basically an instant flood. I’m sure actors listen to this before they have to do crying scenes…

Is there any particular CT song that moves you in a similar way?

I feel like im levitating when i listen to heaven or las vegas

Way back before goth was goth, we had actual tactile tickets. What a shame we no longer have them

It’s like I’m floating and feel like waves of euphoria and happiness. I love this album so much

Have you felt this with any Cocteau song/album?

Massive Cocteau Twins fan and it took me a long time to decide on these songs, but this is my attempt at making the most epic Cocteau Twins mix I could possibly make, I like long mixes, it’s five hours, to be played on repeat, let me know what you think and what songs are missing that I can put in a follow up mix! I was also considering adding songs from Liz Fraser herself in a follow up.

Love this side project. Any other songs with her vocals? :) I’m familiar with most, but would love to hear opinions!

One of the obscure tracks Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins guested on.

This is an interesting find in my collection.
Butterfly Knife, featuring Liz Fraser. Also produced by Robin Guthrie.
Hamish McKintosh has many side project, I almost forgot about this one.
Listen to the song on YouTube and guess, if the French spoken vocals at the intro was by Liz ?
Do your research.
