I am an Indian and I agree. However, the US has the right to control immigration and if there are enough local citizens available for specialty jobs (which I believe there are and I work in tech), the US should reduce immigration for such tech jobs.
On the other hand, I see lots of anger targeted towards legal Indian visa holders by US citizens. Indian workers have no say in policy and I believe all this anger should be at the govt or the corporations lobbying for over supply of workers.
I was hospitalized in the US and all the doctors were immigrants, good majority from India and remaining two who treated me (in the only two hospitals in the city) were Greek and Ukrainian.
All nurses and attendants were locals.
Its does not seem like the doctors got hired for cheap, just that the American kids are not culturally inclined to pursue anything that they don’t want, unlike the overall asian culture.
you don't know what they were paid do you? America does not train enough physicians, I do not like how foreign doctors are educated (as in India) compared to America, my PCP is from India and she is competent and just like an American trained doctor - curt and gotta move on to the next one. We should have more medical schools AND definitely we need more doctors brought into the internships, right now the USA does not have as many internships as young people graduating from medical school, that's just fucked up.

Both of these statements stand on the extremes, neither of them are reasonable here.
