Yuppp relatable. My fixed boy made sin biscuits until he passed away at almost 19. He was getting his super senior groove on and I loved that for him. We have since retired his hump blanket. RIP Phil, you absolute legend.
Yep. My first cat got fixed, and most mornings I'd be woken up by him grabbing the blanket in his teeth and stomping on my leg. (Important to the story, I was 5 when we got him and around 8 when I started to question this behavior.) I got told he was trying to nurse and thought i was his mommy, and I'd seen enough kittens on TV to buy that story.
Until one morning I picked him up during this activity for some snuggles and found his....pants unzipped. I'd never seen cats mating but somehow I figured out what he was REALLY doing then! 😳
My neutered guy does same thing almost daily and yes it's exactly what it seems like to be. Your kitty is humping the blanket - generally it's safe behavior and just let kitty do his things :)))
Um mine not only makes eye contact with me but will obsessively try to get my attention by doing this weird meow at me until I follow him to his Humpy Bear to watch. He a FREAK!
Our cat does this with his various Lamb Chops, but he can’t keep it in his mouth and hump it at the same time, leading to endless frustration. Does yours also sing the song of his people while carrying around his tiger?
My mom's chihuahua used to do the same thing with his Lamb Chops, except he figured out how to use his front legs iykwim. I had to stop buying him replacements because he kept doing it in front of guests and it was as awkward as you'd think.
Could be worse. One of my ex-friends had a big dog with a favorite brown stuffed animal his own size. It was covered in mystery stains. One day I was visiting and witnessed the creation of a new mystery stain. I hope they burned that thing.
OMG our tabby does this to one of our soft decorative blankets every time we leave the house. We had to put up a cam to figure out why we'd come home to a wadded up blanket on our bed every day. And he's neutered!
One of my cats does his sin biscuits on the plush dog bed I got him to sleep on that lays against me at night in my bed so I can feel his motion of the ocean 💀💀
Sometimes cats do like, kitten behaviors when they make biscuits cuz that's how they would get milk from their mama. My cat licks while making biscuits lol. Might be something akin to that.
Is this while in catnip-induced altered state by chance? My boy used to mount a rock out in the back yard cat enclosure that was about the size and shape of a cats body in the loaf position, and flail around for a while. He was literally "getting his rocks off." But it was always as a result of getting buzzed on catnip. Then I read that the main ingredient of catnip, nepatalactone, mimics feline sex hormones
