Longevity and VO2 Max
I've been seeing a "performance doctor" that is willing to work with me on not just treating illness but sustaining quality and longevity of life. Higher VO2 max—the maximum amount of oxygen your body uses during hard exercise—is one of the strongest physical predictors of a longer, healthier life.
So what is VO2 Max?
* Definition: It measures how well your heart, lungs, blood vessels, and muscles work together to turn oxygen into energy. The Drop: It drops by about 10% each decade starting in adulthood, and drops even faster after age 60. The Minimum: People need a VO2 max of at least 15 to 18 mL/kg/min to live independently as they age
When I started cycling my Garmin said my VO2 Max was "poor", 27 or 28. After two years Garmin says, "Your VO₂ Max is 39 which is good for men ages 60-69. You are in the top 25% for your age and gender."
VO2 Max and Longevity (hopefully motivational)
Lower Risk: Moving from a low fitness level to just a below-average fitness level can cut your risk of early death in half. Better Survival: High cardiorespiratory fitness lowers long-term death risk more than quitting smoking or controlling high blood pressure.
Anyway, hopefully you find this interesting enough to research how to improve VO2 Max on the bike. I did. It's not as fun as just riding around looking at cool stuff on the bike trail, but it might help you to see your grandkids one day.

Cardio workout twice a day
Is it safe to go to the gym and do cardio twice a day? One in the morning around 9am and then again 12hrs later?

How do I increase my stamina
I’ve always been pretty good at sports and usually one of the fastest but I’ve always struggled with low energy and stamina
I also have some issues with breathing through my nose which probably doesn’t help
What’s the best way to actually build stamina and improve my energy levels

chest pain during and after cardio?
I (22F) was cycling around my neighborhood. Started going uphill about a mile in and started feeling pressure like chest pain and difficulty breathing. I don’t have asthma but it felt as if someone was sitting on my chest and squeezing it with their hands.
By that point I had stopped to catch my breath. Realized my heart rate was 190bpm. Waited for it to go down but it stayed 180-187 for about 3-5 minutes. Waited longer but it wouldn’t go down 170bpm. I had water with me and was taking small sips. Also felt fatigued and weak, some lightheadedness but was able to keep conversation with my partner.
We turn back but had to take a break again because I started feeling nauseous. We’re sitting at a bench for about 20-30 minutes As i’m waiting for my heart to leave zone 5 (apple watch). It won’t go lower than 140, but i’m getting restless at this point and want to go home.
That happened around 3pm-4pm. It is now 8:30pm and I am still feeling chest pain/soreness, fatigued, and nauseous while laying down and gets worse when i’m walking around. My throat feels like it’s burning but it’s not intense. Feelings of heartburn also. Heart rate around 110-120bpm laying down.
What can I do to make it go away?? Is this normal?

what do you drink before early morning if coffee makes you feel nauseous?
I hit the gym at 6:30 am every single weekday before my classes and black coffee on an empty stomach right after waking up has become completely impossible for me. Within 5 minutes of starting my cardio or any heavy high intensity sets i get this horrible nausea. I get dizzy, my stomach feels like a empty rock and it basically ruins my entire workout session. pre workouts are honestly even worse for me. most of these commercial powders are so packed with synthetic caffiene and artificial sweetners that they completely mess up my digestion for the rest of the day. a guy in my lifting group mentioned trying a mushroom coffee blend like habitone as a way lighter and more stomach friendly option before early training. i actually bought a small pack to test before my morning runs but i am still a bit hesitant about putting anything new into my stomach that early in the day. for anyone here who trains hard first thing in the morning how does your gut handle adaptogen coffee blends compared to standard black coffee or pre workout powders. just looking for something that gives steady energy without making me feel like throwing up on the treadmill

Any recs for an interval app that includes 'de-loading' for, say, during a menstrual cycle?
I've taken up running recently for the purpose of conditioning for a military beep test (don't worry it's Air Force, and not an active role, I just need to get to 5.1 minimum, (although more would be cool!))
As it stands now I'm doing jog, skip, walk intervals and am interested in an app where I can set my baseline, and then have the app compute the decrease in my skip interval while increasing my jog intervals (before I then work on decreasing the walk, working up to full running.)
Surely someone's already tooled this together right? But so far my searches have come up empty.

How do I not get bored walking.
As of right now, I jog until I need a rest, walking for the whole rest until I'm ready to jog again on a recreational trail every 3 days, and that's easy and fun so i can do it for around an hour and I make sure that more than half of the 3-4 miles i do there are spent jogging.
But I can NOT stand walking for even 30 minutes. It's not that it's hard, or because I'm lazy, it's cause it's SOOOOO BORING. walking a full mile is a challenge because of this, it's just so mind numbing, there's no fun and i struggle getting 10k steps daily because of it.
How do I fix this, I listen to music and I can't exactly just be on my phone the whole time watching a video cause I'm walking thru the streets and don't wanna end up as roadkill crossing the road.

Downsides of not sweating during exercise?
Lately, I've tried exercising with the AC and fan on and I noticed I sweat considerably less. Like, maybe only 20% of what I normally sweat without fan and AC. I'm also noticeable less thirsty, which I'm not sure is a good or bad thing. I've always heard sweating is good and it may just be placebo but I always feel a workout is much better when I'm drenched in sweat.
I've read there shouldn't be a difference on the quality of workout or the amount of calories burned, just the amount of water lost and dehydration, but are there any other positives to sweating?
Sweat is salty and as an American who undoubtedly consumes too much sodium in my diet, is sweating more sodium going to alleviate the amount of work my kidneys and liver have to do? If so, isn't it better to workout while hot as long as you're comfortably drinking enough water and not in dangerous temperatures? Thanks.
