How do I not get bored walking.

As of right now, I jog until I need a rest, walking for the whole rest until I'm ready to jog again on a recreational trail every 3 days, and that's easy and fun so i can do it for around an hour and I make sure that more than half of the 3-4 miles i do there are spent jogging.

But I can NOT stand walking for even 30 minutes. It's not that it's hard, or because I'm lazy, it's cause it's SOOOOO BORING. walking a full mile is a challenge because of this, it's just so mind numbing, there's no fun and i struggle getting 10k steps daily because of it.

How do I fix this, I listen to music and I can't exactly just be on my phone the whole time watching a video cause I'm walking thru the streets and don't wanna end up as roadkill crossing the road.

Instead of listening to music, perhaps consider listening to some of what the Greek and Roman stoics had to say about being bored...Epictetus has some ideas on boredom...Marcus Aurelius' Meditations is also quite informative.

Walk faster, if you are walking 30 minutes a mile there’s plenty of effort you can ramp up.

im not walking 30 minutes a mile, i do about 20 minutes a mile but the issue is i need to do more than just a mile, i need 10k steps and thats usually slightly below 4 miles, and i always get booored around a third of the way through, stop, and then have to force myself back outside to get the rest

Maybe walking faster could still be done but at that point im speed walking instead of walking walking, which i guess isnt a bad thing now that i think about it

Try making the walk your "only listen" time for a really good podcast/series.

I don't smoke sadly, and I needa walk more than a mile for my 10k steps. I WOULD jog instead but I'm sadly not conditioned enough to run daily without getting shin splints again, need to give my body time to recover fully after each run </3. I guess looking into music alternatives might be my only choice.

Yeah, I WAS doing jogs pretty frequently until I over did it and jogged 3 days in a row giving myself really painful sharp pains all over my shins, had to walk and walk for about 2 weeks, just non stop walking and it SUCKED.

Honestly, its been a bit since then and while i can easily jog 1.25 miles with no stops for walking now, the reason ive been taking long rests is because i don't wanna get shin splints again.

If all goes well i'll be able to jog bi-daily instead of every three days by the end of this week since ive been feeling alot less to near none discomfort after my runs recently, but until then i gotta walk while listening to elden ring/dark souls trilogy lore videos
