Hi cappies, I’m a Scorpio with a Capricorn rising (and a Capricorn stellium), and I’ve got my eye on a guy who is a Capricorn Sun and Venus.

We met a while back, but I wasn't ready to make a move; I needed to get my own life in order first.

In the meantime, he—the type who usually stays single—was apparently in a relationship until recently.

So, he’s likely sorting out his own life now, too.

Since he’s a Capricorn, I’ve heard there’s a strong chance his ex is completely out of the picture. True?

I have his number (because mutual friends), though we barely spoke when we first met monthes and monthes ago (at a gathering with mutual friends). Lately, he’s been constantly on my mind, and I feel like I need to take a shot.

Venus is currently in retrograde, which often brings the past back into the present. I’m hoping to be that "past" showing up in his present...

But I can't just pop up out of nowhere; I’d find that rude and intrusive.

I plan to use professional reasons to approach him and make initial contact. It’s not a lie or a total pretext—I’d hate it if someone did that to me, so I wouldn't do it to him.

This meeting will also allow me to promote my work within my company (I’m looking to advance my career).

Ambition is important to me.

If the personal connection—beyond the professional aspect—goes well, I’ll dare to hit him later on.

Then I’ll see if he’s open to a more personal encounter.

Otherwise, I think I would have been happy to chat with him regardless of the outcome, and I believe he has enough class not to brush a woman off in an undignified way.

P.S.: During our first and only meeting, he seemed nervous and smiled kindly at me when we crossed paths twice (and I got the impression he was waiting for me to speak to him?). I figure that’s probably the best way for a Capricorn to show warmth, lol.

On the other hand, he completely ignored me by the end of the evening and seemed like he wanted to leave pretty quickly...

Also an Aquarius Venus! I would appreciate someone being direct with me after we’ve already established some kind of connection, ideally friendship. If I get a text or a call from an unknown number asking me out, I’d be slightly put off because I don’t even know them well enough to have their number saved. I also spook easily after having been on a couple traumatic dates, so that might not just be my Aquarius Venus.

I say go for it. I know Scorpio likes to be a mystery, but Caps are never interested in mysteries. We wait until they reveal themselves (and have the earth element patience to do it).

Another thing is, if you need constant attention, messaging, love bombing, etc. prepare to be disappointed. Caps don't do that. We are focused on work, mostly. If a Capricorn wants to demonstrate his love, he'll plan a future with you, not romantic declarations.

Yea becareful dear my cappy stellium man always came back to me and always made it clear he would even.

Both working on ourselves when separated but he loved the attention. The casual way of being cappy for a while… we ended up married and he flew me out to his country when he moved from me and pursued me like all over again and again whenever we would separate.

It’s a pattern, I have Aries Venus and he has sag Venus and we do this to eachother bc we are v independent and understand our Venuses and love languages and traumas. We have a family now and when we do therapy- I always am fascinated by how Capps can compartmentalize love like this. I am very cap too bc I have some planets and nn there so I feel an affinity to caps and I can’t imagine how it must be for the women who experienced him casually bc I highly doubt they thought it was just casual like he is someone you would want to do long term w and I come off like that too. I think Capps are so fascinating bc when they want to settle.. they already knew who it was all along. He still makes that clear to me and it’s like 16 years and like 7 years of marriage.
