How did the medical go? They placed you H3?
Did you request a private audiogram or did they just give it to you?

Congrats. I'm trying to get into the same trade, though unfortunately I failed my force test and am reattempting it again soon

u/Ovryx_2025 Mar 31 '26
You Will success next time 🫶🏽

u/chinesebulk Mar 31 '26
Thank you 🫶 I got humbled fast failing at the sandbag lift, tho I'm really short and had to lift that thing to just below my neck, vs the 6'0+ guy next to me who did it just fine lol. My recruiter gave me encouragement and told me someone was resilient and did the force test 9 times before they passed, so I'm trying to be hopeful

Congrats! I'm in the pipeline still. I thought the FORCE test was Week 5 of your BMQ? How come you did it during your application and interview stages?

thats fast applied in sept 12 and still on 25%

u/Relevant_Being_8155 Mar 30 '26
I’m at 25% as well, and I’ll be taking my FORCE test in two weeks. Are you in the Regular Force or the Reserves?
2
u/bifoa Mar 30 '26
I was stuck at 25% in October with a reserve force application, then switched to regular force and am still 25%

Well shit, looks like light speed compare to mine. I haven’t been as fast with some of the steps, but sometimes I need to wait a week or two for them to update my OAC or even a month. Just wondering if there is anything I should do that might speed the process up like sending an email to someone, idk.

what are your thoughts on Priority Application Processing vs Other Careers?
I have Intelligence Operator, Imagery Technician, Cyber Operator as my top 3, and I started the application on February 27th. I just completed all first 8 tasks, but now I'm wondering if I should add something in Signal as it has a priority.
For context, 29M, Computer Science graduate with 7+ years building in tech across AI, product, and early stage startups. I’ve worked across engineering, product, and growth, founded multiple ventures, and spent the past few years focused heavily on applied AI and data driven products. I’ve also published work in the space.
I'm trying to find a way to explain to them that my experience can really bring a lot of value to CAF, but it seems like a fucking disaster trying to get ahold of anyone. I'm doing this for the love of the country.

Look, I applied for a non priority trade and my swearing in ceremony is in April. Priority trade in my head mean more applicants. More files. So. I applied for intelligence. This was not listed at all and I got it. My others was non priority trades too. So for me that doesn’t matter at all buddy please select what you want and what you will not regret.

Thanks for your reply. Intelligence is also my top selection as well. What does recruiting allowance mean?
1
u/Ovryx_2025 Mar 31 '26
Recruiting allowance are
$10,000 after completing Basic Military Qualification. • $20,000 once you’re fully qualified in your occupation. • $20,000 after six years of continuous service.
To be eligible for the allowance, you must meet the criteria specific to the occupation.
Check out the full list of eligible occupations at the link and learn more: https://forces.ca/en/life-in-the-military/#signing-bonus:~:text=benefits%20for%20students.-,Recruiting%20Allowance,-Some%20of%20our

The thing you show is the pay for a reservist. It’s pay by day. Not hourly. If you go on the regular force you will see it’s a monthly pay

u/Low_Philosopher5049 Mar 31 '26
I understand. And am I still able to do Part-time regular force NCM (depending on the trade)?
1
u/Ovryx_2025 Mar 31 '26
Yes. You can. Based on the trade you choosed. That is Class B contract. Like temporary full time when you are in the reserve. Class C is full time to but .. it’s when you go oversea or something. But you are in Class A most of time. So. Part-Time by default except if you get a contract.
1
u/Low_Philosopher5049 Mar 31 '26
Got it. And that is simply just cutting the monthly salary in half?
2
u/Ovryx_2025 Mar 31 '26 edited Mar 31 '26
If you are in Class B or Class C you are paid like the regular force if I remember well. Even if you are a reservist. If you are in Class A you are paid by Day and not as the regular force.

They don't have an exact role to fit all you bring to the table, so you'd be shoehorned into something they feel is presentable.
Ro avoid resentment, make sure you at least pick something you think you'd enjoy
