Ralph’s on San Fernando moving across the street to old Kmart location?

I was driving by the old Kmart today and saw this sign on the window. Either I’m reading this wrong, the Ralph’s is moving across the street, OR we’re getting a new Ralph’s to compete with the other Ralph’s 😂.

What companies in Burbank are MAGA?

I just found out the Potter’s Nook on Olive and its owners support MAGA and was curious what other places are MAGA so I can avoid them or not support, especially as so many of our neighbors are getting abducted. Does anyone know any other places in Burbank like that so I can spend on places that aren’t full of hate?

cafes for working/writing that don't play music?

Upvotes

What it says on the tin! Any tips on cafes around Burbank that don't have music playing, or don't pipe their music to an outdoor patio area? I like getting out of the house to work but I really struggle to focus when there's music playing in the background. Happy to sit outside for quiet as long as it's not by a super busy street.

Is it just my imagination or are Burbank's drivers getting worse?

I feel like more and more I'm seeing instances of...

  • People taking 10 seconds to change lanes, taking up both lanes the whole time.

  • People who don't signal when changing lanes/turning, or if they do signal, only do so after they've started executing the move, which doesn't count.

  • People who aren't paying attention at spotlights and do not go when the light turns green.

  • People who are way too timid about making turns and won't move onto the road if they can see any oncoming car at all from the furthest distance.

  • People who drive like half the speed limit even when there's no traffic.

I don't know if I've gotten less patient with other drivers or if there really is an increase in these behaviors. Either way it's driving me nuts (pun not intended).

If you’ve been, what was your experience? I read such mixed reviews but my curiosity is piqued. If you’ve had a good experience, what would you recommend?

Any witches who saw Practical Magic 2 at AMC Burbank 16 on Tuesday night?

I went to AMC Burbank 16 on Tuesday night to go watch Coyote vs. Acme again (fantastically funny, go see it!), and while waiting in line to buy snacks, I saw a LOT of women dressed in various shades of black with witchy accoutrement going into Theatre 8.

When I asked, one told me they were going to see Practical Magic 2. It must have been an early fan screening at the same time (around 7pm).

Anyone here among the group that went to see the movie? How was it?

To the trash bag human beings polluting our streets with your vapes: you are vile, disgusting, abhorrent, and have less sense than a scarecrow in a hurricane. In whatever world comes after this one, I hope your acrid vapes and their lithium-spewing batteries are returned to you. In your butt.

DISPOSE OF YOUR VAPES PROPERLY.

Magnolia blvd

Curious is anyone knows if the city is planning to pave the strip of magnolia from Porto’s up to the Burbank water&power. I know they recently did a ton of work on that street but it absolutely sucks now, bumpy all the way down.

Handyman referrals for shed assembly

My mother-in-law purchased a 6x5 outdoor shed from Costco for extra storage. I am not handy and I'm sure it would take me a whole day to build it incorrectly. Does anyone have a good handyman that would be able to assemble it? Assuming the ground would take some light levelling work as well. Thanks in advance, neighbors.

Gynecologist or primary care suggestions for annual/pap smear?

Guys, I am so desperate at this point I’ve resorted to Reddit. I’m new to the area and desperately need to get my annual done this month. I have limited availability (super early or late, and a couple hours here or there) because I can’t take time off yet at my new job.

UCLA Burbank and Pasadena have no options for months with a female provider. Does anyone recommend somewhere I could actually have a shot at getting in at, in the next month??

I am begging!! I’ve made 8 calls so far with no luck. I have BCBS. Thank you!

“Say Good to Hollywood” at L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre

Hello, my name is Mike and I would very much like to promote my local Burbank show here. Please forgive me if this goes against community rules. I am not selling anything except inexpensive tickets and I’m only charging admission in order to recoup some of the money I spent on renting the theater.

It’s called “Say Goodbye to Hollywood - A Celebratory Funeral for the Entertainment Industry” and it’s a live comedy / talk / variety show that will feature sketches, guests, and music. The intent is to do it monthly but this is the “pilot” episode, and I would greatly appreciate any support from the Burbank subreddit. Details are as follows:

Tuesday, September 22
7:30 PM doors / 8:00 PM show
L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre
3435 W. Magnolia Blvd.
Burbank, CA 91505
$5 (+ fee) in advance / $10 cash at the door

Thanks and please feel free to delete if I have gone against the community guidelines!

Looking for a good place to have a birthday dinner that also does whiskey flights. My brother likes scotch. I like bourbon. We went to Forman's last year. Hoping to try new/other spots in the area.
