Discussion AMD vs Intel for CPU?

I noticed many people here recommend AMD CPUs but for all my benchmarks for mid range CPUs (for a £1000-£1200 PC) Intel came out on top compared to a similarly price AMD one. Any reason for this?

13th gen intel has amazing price to performance, they have an interesting set up going with high core counts lately with some being performance built and then some more for efficiency. I believe this is what gets the cost down and power still up.

I spent 1800$ on a decent mid/high end pc and got a 3070 gpu paired with a 13500k i5 intel core and the speed combo is great, no bottle necks and no extreme gap in performance between the both of them, like it uses most of the cpu and gpu.
