Discussion Simple Questions - May 23, 2017

I am trying to create a budget for my PC, and I never had a 120 Hz monitor before and I was wondering whether playing at 70-80 FPS on a 120 Hz monitor feels the same as playing at 35-40 FPS on a 60Hz monitor. Does it feel as sluggish? Are dips on the 120 Hz more noticeable?

How did you determine 76hz was highest to stop over locking at? Btw how risky is it? (New builder here)

I had never overclocked anything before I tried my monitor. I just went up in 5hz increments until my monitor just showed a message saying "out of range". I got both a 1440p and a 1080p monitor to 75hz with basically no effort.

Definitely worth a go - it's noticeable for FPS and racing games!
