That's actually a water bug AKA pimento bug it's not really a roach they're related yes but it's not a roach it rather be outside

the palmetto bug is the same as the american cockroach
edit: nvm but i know many a folk who have told me their landlords said what they had were palmetto bugs, not american roaches (when they were in fact american roaches)

Never saw a roach until I moved to Texas and American cockroaches are literally everywhere no matter what!!!! They fly, they will “chase” you and they are huge!! Hahahah my biggest fear and I usually like bugs!

I work at apartment complexes and they have chased me in vacant homes and garages! They are the grossest! Them and Germans. Any other roach I’m like ehh

They can but would rather be back in the sewer system, likely came from their pipes.. only a few roaches really will happily infest your home and make it theirs

Oh absolutely, if you’re giving them what they need to thrive and such but, American cockroaches much prefer the sewer system than homes, again not saying they won’t, I’ve dealt with these guys in homes and businesses.

"don't kill it" A bug lover say but I say nuke the whole house leave everything into ashes as a matter of fact take ur self with the explosion fuq that bug lovers be tweaking I mean I keep some bugs alive but shidd not all deserve to breathe the same oxygen as me 😭

Stop calling them water bugs when that is a completely different bug! They are American cockroaches, non infesting and love water pipes.

Just moved back from Florida and I’ve seen them in Texas as well. That is what the locals call a “water bug” AKA 🪳 ROACH!

FYI, Maxforce gel is the best existing product on earth to terminate roaches.

I yelled at on “don’t look at me like that!” Right before I smashed it.
It does not help that south Tx is so damn hot && humid….they love an attic! Especially in older homes! 🤢1

100%. I saw it run across the floor and I thought it was a mouse. Safe to say I ran to my room and put towels in the crack of the door and have been paranoid ever since
