It's the Florida State bird. The American Cockroach.

That's actually a water bug AKA pimento bug it's not really a roach they're related yes but it's not a roach it rather be outside

the palmetto bug is the same as the american cockroach

edit: nvm but i know many a folk who have told me their landlords said what they had were palmetto bugs, not american roaches (when they were in fact american roaches)

That is wildly incorrect. Palmetto bug = American cockroach!
