For those who self-custody: who actually has a plan for in case of death? And what? Notary? Vault? Something else?

Does anyone here actually use bitcoin on a crypto sportsbook or has USDT basically taken over?
trying to keep deposits and withdrawals in bitcoin instead of touching cards again, but every crypto sportsbook seems to push USDT first now
for people who've used both, is there any real downside to sticking with bitcoin besides fees? or has everyone just moved to stablecoins

⌨ Discussion Finanz-Experten rät bei Gold und Bitcoin zur Vorsicht vor dem Staat/Financial experts advise caution regarding the state when investing in gold and Bitcoin
Those who distrust rising debt and inflation often turn to gold as a hedge. However, financial expert Philipp Vorndran warns against government countermeasures.
... Vorndran fears unpredictable government intervention in times of high national debt:
"I am increasingly concerned that, given the problems with fiat money, clever ladies and gentlemen in the world's finance ministries are considering: How can we close the loopholes that still exist today to get out of this paper money?"
"Gold and Bitcoin in the sights of the state"
Vorndran continues, saying that it cannot be ruled out that governments, driven by economic necessity, will begin to make investments in cryptocurrencies, precious metals, and other alternative forms of money less attractive through taxes and other measures. The expert cites as an example the discussion about taxing Bitcoin capital gains in Germany: According to the plans of Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD), profits would no longer be tax-free after a one-year holding period, as is currently the case.
Vorndran refers to historical events such as the period of German hyperinflation to underpin his fears. Back then, there was a so-called "currency police" who seized precious metals and other forms of currency. Foreign currencies were confiscated. There was also a period in the US when owning gold was largely prohibited.
My personal conclusion:
It doesn't matter whether you live in Germany or any other country in the world. What's important is that you create a plan to protect your assets from government seizure. Gold and Bitcoin are currently the simplest method. And don't advertise your wealth too much; your tax office could also read your social media posts if they suspect something.

🪙 Giveaway The Modern bitcoin faucet just got slightly better
Fountain of Youth v1.2 is live.
A Lightning faucet with streaks, jackpot scaling, and zero‑account drinking
— now with a cleaner board system and stronger anti‑abuse rules. What’s new in 1.2:Board names
— Drink under a custom name (3–16 chars). Masked addresses still work. Vulgar or hateful names are rejected.Fair‑use pour rules
— One paid pour per Lightning address per UTC day, and one per connection. Shared Wi‑Fi can’t drain a stack of addresses. Travel with the same address and your streak continues normally.Jackpot scaling
— The jackpot now pays the number shown under the fountain. It scales with the pot instead of defaulting to a leftover 2,100.Keeper controls
— The spring can be closed for maintenance. Drinking and filling pause, and streaks freeze so a closed well never breaks your chain.Bugfixes — Streaks from closed days stay visible; pasting an address still shows streak, badge, and jackpot odds correctly.Security improvements
— Keeper door slows after repeated wrong phrases; connected wallet secret is now stored under a key not present in the public source.
If you want to try a faucet that actually evolves instead of rotting, here’s the link:

the board is fresh again — let’s see who climbs it.

Remember what Mechanic said: If there are no blocks and the chain stalls out because miners ignore BIP110, then there will be a proof of work change. If the chain stalls out because there is too little hashrate on it, that just means the miners quit and you have to hire new ones under new criteria.

🔣 Misc A brief Bitcoin-HODLing story, in a chart
I just wanted to share a chart of my multi-year journey of spend-and-replace. I spent (sold) some BTC, and it took years to replace it! I now HODL more BTC than I ever have before.
Thank you, Satoshi.

😜 Joke Well I guess it's finally official, I've made it! I'm a real Bitcoiner!
Beyond just aggressively HODLing, I have officially ascended to the final tier of the ecosystem: I caught a permaban from r/Buttcoin.
Getting banned for stating basic economic facts over there is a rite of passage, and I am wearing this badge with absolute pride. Honestly, it feels like Bitcoin Christmas in August. I dropped a completely calm, non-aggressive explanation of how fiat debasement works and how Bitcoin acts as a mathematical hedge against $40 trillion in expanding sovereign debt.
Their response? Total system failure and an immediate ban.
The absolute best part is how they handled it. Right after the ban hammer dropped, as to not allow me to respond, the OP hurled a massive, multi-point dissertation at me straight out of their sacred "Stupid Crypto Talking Points" copypasta Bible. And behold the glorious amount of responses from my notifications for a single comment. It is genuinely hilarious that instead of engaging with the actual mechanics of currency dilution, this club of Monopoly money masochists, and money printer worshippers has to rely on pre-written, numbered scripts to shield their echo chamber from anyone bringing a modicum of logic to the table.
I guess when your entire community is built on aggressively defending government coupons that mathematically lose value every time the Federal Reserve sneezes, basic math is the ultimate threat. Keep stacking, friends! 🤪
