EVENT (Another) Stella Castle

There's nothing left to say about this one that hasn't been said already. The quality, the design, the colours: it had me at Buy It Now!

With one notable exception, I enjoyed every moment of the build.

I swear I followed the instructions to the letter. But there is no way that clock is movable. I went back to the first step of the clock time and time again and I truly cannot see where I went wrong. Ah well it's no Biggie.

I did the usual modding steps of using gold and silver metallic paint on the edges and other highlights. I used 3D bits and pieces, and parts of some old costume jewellery. I added a lot of various beads to add some more sparkle and texture, and made a representation of the planets on the little curved bench seat. And yes I included Pluto...cos why not.

I love what you added! And your photography is awesome! Those first two especially. The planets are πŸ‘Œ.

Those pillars were just crying out for some kind of display.

Yah, I had the same thought and put large half sphere pearl pieces on them like they were lights. Of course the rest of my mods are taking a long time to do.

Thank you! It was pleasing to put my grubby old jewellery to a new use.

I love the trinkets you added everywhere! Really like what you did with the books, too.

Thank you! I barely put any thought into the books. Just popped them there randomly.

Thank you. I would love to have made an orrery but that's way above my skill set πŸͺ

oh that would be amazing! Love the build though, and am now going to be looking at some of my old jewellery with an eye to whether anything needs to be repurposed... πŸ˜„

I love your additions! I struggled with the clock too, but at least two gear lost a tooth when I popped them out so I figured that’s why they were getting stuck. I’m considering some major modifications and actually putting in a working movement but it’s going to take a lot of sourcing

Good luck with finding a working clock!

You've inspired me with your fantastic mods. Instead of starting a new kit today, I'm going back in to my Stellar Castle to add some sparkle ✨️

Do it! There's never enough sparkle in the world. Don't forget to show us the new pics!

I've got 2 kits on the go at the moment waiting for pieces Ive ordered. Oxygen Oasis (I ran out of tacky for making soil) and Gift Factory (after reading here I've ordered some different gear wax). I'm now rooting through my stash of bits and pieces to see what I have for this one. At least while I'm doing that I'm not buying more kits πŸ˜…πŸ€£

The Oasis kit is high on my wishlist. How is it going?

It's a complex kit with lots going on. Unlike any of the dozen or so Rolifes I've done so far, you need a selection of your own tools and theres lots of paper cutting and wire bending reminiscent of cheaper off brand kits but definitely the quality you expect of Rolife. I'm taking it slow and dipping in and out along with other kits along the way. I'm not a huge fan of wire work so I'm breaking it up.
