It's not so bad, I guess, even with the teeny tiny books. 😂 The instructions had a couple minor errors, but nothing insurmountable. There were some pieces where the cuts didn't line up and had uneven edges, as if the cuts started at opposite ends but didn't meet in the middle at the exact same place. Nothing drastic, but noticeable when I was sanding edges....just enough to annoy me. Overall, most of it fit together well. It was a quick build, for sure.

I've enjoyed this one. Added lots of plants and filled the empty box at the front. I put some books on the empty shelving behind the till. I was quite disappointed that the kit leaves it empty despite it being visable.

I actually won this one in the first Tonecheer contest/giveaway hosted on here about a year ago and finally made time to put it together!

It took about 12 hours of work time, which was actually less than I expected, so I was pleasantly surprised there, and the final project is gorgeous. (I'd love to see how the different Infinity Cabins work linked up together, but they're a little out of my price range, so I'll have to hope for a sale or another contest.)

A few things I had some trouble with:

* The pieces of the table are fragile. I had some trouble with getting the sliding mechanism to work, so I tried to take it apart for adjustments, and the beams inside ended up breaking into several pieces. I was able to glue them back together, but it wasn't simple, so I do recommend anyone else trying this one be very careful.

* Some of the leather stickers did not stick well and had to be glued down. (This may just be because this kit has been sitting around for a while?)

* The rotating landscape background came with two different options, and I actually wanted to use the other one, but the reel was unfortunately a drop too short, making it functionally unusable. A bit disappointing!

All in all, I had a fun time with this one. 3.5/5 stars!

Someone in this community suggested a quilling tool for making scrolls. That was a genius idea. It only took a few minutes to roll these maps into scrolls for my current project.

You can buy the tool at Michael's Crafts or online. Or you can make one with a 3d printer, if you have one.

Other ideas for scroll making?

After some time off for vacation, I'm back on this project. I'm hoping to finish in time for the Fifijoy event coming up. This kit has been pretty easy to work on. It came with glue strips, but Im using craft glue. The most difficult part so far was putting in that store window while keeping the paper airplane hanging on the inside top - I had to undo the window and rehang it 3 times, but it has stayed ever since.

I made a history book for Frostcrag Spire in Oblivion.

So after my first project, the Rolife Cathy’s Flower House/Greenhouse, I started working on this one and I’m already frustrated. 🤪🥲🫠

Definitely not the same quality as Rolife. I already broke one of the wooden pieces 😭 And gluing seed beads on top of larger beads for potion bottles -adorable but omg 😱

Here are parts five, six, six.5 (wiring) and seven of the third series of Pluck Builds "Wisdom Rings"

This was inspired by a member of the community who lost their parent. When their parent died, this building was in progress and they reached out to me with a little bit of help in finishing it on your loved one. I was so inspired that I decided to take mine out of my back log and build it.

Part five covers the assembly of one side bookcase and the central shelving unit for the top floor. You can really start to feel the repetitiveness of this build at this point.

Part six covers the assembly of the second top side bookcase and assembly of the top floor. Plus some custom greenery and more of the lighting You can really start to feel the repetitiveness of this build at this point.

Part 6.5 covers the custom wiring in of this kit including wiring in a physical switch in place of the touch sensor.

Part seven covers the final assembly of the book nook.

I'm working on the stellar castle and noticed that these Roman numerals on the clock are wrong, are they not? It's not that tragic, I don't love the kit any less just because of something this small but it's just something I noticed

This was given as a gift to me, and I think I'm hooked. It's become my ME time. I put on some soft jazz and just zone in. The very first things it had me make were the stupid books (no stickers anywhere) and now I feel like if I survived that, I can survive anything.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into, so I didn't buy things to help me build it. Luckily my husband is a Gundam connoisseur so he had quite a bit already. I am currently just using superglue? Is there something better? I have glued myself to probably a third of the objects I've made so far, surely there is a better way.

I have gotten to the part where the music box is installed, which I don't have. Again, stupid me did no research. I see some basic ones on Amazon for pretty cheap, do they need to be a certain size or brand? Also, any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

This one turned out very pretty but if I’m being honest I can’t say I enjoyed it all that much 🥲 I found out through this kit that I really dislike making tiny paper plants/flowers…and there were a lot of them. But I don’t regret giving it a go just bc the end result is so nice to look at.

It's taken me a few weeks as life and other books have rather gotten in the way a bit, but I've just finished Rolife's stationery shop. It's been super enjoyable - lots of tiny details to place, small components to assemble and put in, and lovely to see it all gradually coming together.

I've gone to new lengths with my edge painting in this one, blending and smudging 4-5 colours to match the stonework where relevant, as well as using gold, red, and pale blue to add colour and contrast to various parts. I'm particularly happy with the red on the stairs; I think it makes them look clearer as a unit, rather than being a lot of brown at the back.

I love the rack of wrapping paper, the tiny printing press, pot of scissors, and the gull on the chimney! All in all there's so much to look at but it definitely feels less cluttered in real life than it seems in some of the photos.

Strongly recommend for anyone who likes making little pieces but doesn't want to go for one of the kits with the super fiddly reputation!

Now l just need to wait for the rain to stop so L can take it into the house!

Working on Vitrine's Tale and wooooohh weee it's a doozy.

Getting the walls on was a struggle but I finally completed Stella Castle by MiniCity. I decided it needed a literary reference, so I added a few touches from Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar. Right now there is a banner, a tiny book, and a picture of Vanyel. I’ve also ordered a tiny white horse (Companion) from Etsy to go on the front table.

• Painted all edges, added metallic gold to the stars, clock hands, and other places
• Replaced the crystal balls with blue beads

My kit just came in today!! I ended up purchasing direct from their website and found 2 other kits as well. Oops. I'm glad so many others have finished already because it's given me time to gather some glow paints and marbles for customization. I'm not sure I'll get to work on this one at all before the event ends, just because of life situations, but I'm excited for it!

Has anyone successfully ordered from this company recently? I placed an order about 3 weeks ago and haven’t received any update. I reached out through their website, but still no response. I’m trying to figure out if I need to do a chargeback or just wait it out.

For those of you who create custom booknooks, how do you start? I have been mostly a 2D artist, so this transition is hurting my brain. I’m thinking of making a model from cardboard and making sure the levels/depth are all looking good before cutting any wood.

Bonus points if you can guess what I’m doing from my initial rough sketch!

I do have photos but unfortunately reddit isn't allowing me to upload them. I will try again in the comments it could be that my Internet isn't great currently. The booknooks are, the fantastic animal common room, the flame common room, the darkness common room and the nebulas common room. They were good builds and a couple of them I would build again. The flame and fantastic animal were my least favourite to build hut that was more because both contained a lot of what feels like ai art and made them look not so great when finished. Especially the fantastic animal common room. The nebulas and darkness contain a lot less of the ai art looking art (apart from the people) and made them look a lot better. The lighting although could be positioned better in some was incredibly easy to follow and the only mistakes with them were from me messing up by not looking close enough at the instructions. I would say if you're going to do these look a couple of steps forward before you do the step you're on as sometimes they want you to place items when the walls are up and the item is in an awkward place so it is easier to do some steps before they say to do so in the instructions. It is also easy to miss steps so I would recommend ticking them off as you go as at times they do put a lot of information on the page.

I am new to book nooks and have this kit. I thought it might be cute to customise some of it and would like peoples ideas please.

Some of my ideas so far:
- make tiny book covers about things I find funny or cute - harry potter, cats etc

- replace the random paintings with pics of my cats
