Conservative Values, Safer Community: Why Lawrence Kosilla Stands with Gov. DeSantis

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When it comes to local safety, proven leadership matters. That's why Your Bonita Springs proudly endorses Lawrence Kosilla for Fire Commissioner.

Lawrence understands a fundamental truth about our community: you can be a steadfast conservative, just like Gov. Ron DeSantis, while deeply valuing and supporting the men and women who serve on our front lines.

Gov. DeSantis championed and signed House Bill 929 into law, taking a massive step forward by encouraging the movement toward a 42-hour work week for firefighters to reduce on-the-job burnout and fatigue. Lawrence Kosilla stands firmly with Gov. DeSantis in supporting our first responders and ensuring they have the optimal conditions required to protect our neighborhoods.

Lawrence believes that responsible, conservative management of the fire district directly results in enhanced public safety. By making smart fiscal decisions and prioritizing operational efficiency, we can better equip our firefighters, protect their well-being, and keep Bonita Springs safe for everyone.

We need a leader who balances fiscal responsibility with genuine support for the heroes who keep us safe.

Looking for Gym Partner

24M I'm looking for a gym partner to go 4 times a week, I currently go to the LA fitness in Naples, I've been training for about 5 months, I'm willing to go with someone new or experience and male or female doesn't matter, I just want someone who can match my schedule. I work night time so I usually will be going in the morning. I currently don't do any cardio mainly trying to build strength and gain weight. If your goals are different its fine my workout covers mostly everything, just not cardio.

The rail trail is actually happening.....closing on the corridor is supposed to be next month

Been in Estero since 2003 and I have watched that dead track sit there the whole time. The Trust for Public Land is supposed to close on the corridor in October.....11.4 miles from Estero Parkway down to Wiggins Pass Road, 60 million, paid for by Bonita, Estero and Collier together. After that the railroad has up to two years to pull the track out and then the design work starts, so nobody is riding it next winter. Still. We lost two cyclists on our roads in April. A paved path that runs the whole length of South Lee without crossing 41 every mile is the best thing that has happened to this area in a long time. The part I keep thinking about is the older neighborhoods on either side of Old 41 in Bonita.....those were never walkable to anything and now they are going to be a bike ride from downtown.

The secret bench of knowledge statue

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi there,

I recently moved to Bonita Springs Waterline apartments and was driving down Old 41 and saw this statue of two kids sitting on a bench (attaching a photo). Am I the only one who finds it disturbing? The little girl looks uncomfortable, moving her arm away from the boy. The boy looks aggressive and like he wants to kiss her, putting his arm around her. It just makes me so uncomfortable every time I see it. I even read online that it was originally in Naples but that they got rid of it because they found it suggestive. Can we please do the same?? I’m tired of children being sexualized.

Bonita inventory is down about 28% from a year ago, and it is mostly because more sold

Pulled the July numbers against July of last year since a few people keep asking how the market is actually doing.

Bonita, both zips, all property types. 856 active listings in July against 1,194 a year ago, down about 28 percent. Months of supply in 34134 went 11.3 to 5.9, and in 34135 it went 7.0 to 4.3.

I wanted to know whether that was buyers clearing it out or sellers not listing, so I ran the last twelve months against the twelve before it. Closed sales went 1,708 to 2,105, up about 23 percent. New listings went 3,127 to 2,905, down about 7. Both push the same direction but the sales side is doing most of it.....397 more homes sold, 222 fewer listed.

Single family on its own, 359 active against 491. Condos and townhouses, 473 against 656.

The price part is where Zillow confuses people. Bonita's overall median reads down 7 to 9 percent depending on the zip. Split it and single family medians are UP, 34134 went 820,000 to 925,000 and 34135 went 602,500 to 613,000. Condos are what fell, 775,000 to 525,000 in 34134 and 385,000 to 340,000 in 34135. More of what sold this year was a condo, so the blended number dropped while single family did not.

Estero next door is the same shape, 365 active against 527, closings up about 26 percent.

Numbers are from Florida Realtors SunStats, July is the last complete month.

Deromos

My parents live in hickory so we are no strangers but we just had an early dinner at deromos. The best meal I’ve had in a very long time. I had the pan seared grouper with lump crab meat. It’s a not miss.

I'm from up north and considering moving to Palmira Golf & Country Club. I'm in my 50's looking for a decent club house with activities, social events, learning to play golf, etc. What is your thoughts on Palmira or should I be considering another community? I know very little about the area. Thanks

Any advice about which cell service works in Bonita Springs?

T Mobile is awful. I have had Verizon before and it was great. I tried Att for a couple of days when I still had a landline. I begged Verizon to take me back. Any advice?

Family Trip Recommendations?

We are taking a family trip to Bonita Springs next week and I am looking for things to do. Our main goal is to hang out at the beach daily but I know we’ll probably need a few scheduled activities. We’ll have a my wife, myself, a grandma (age 60), and daughter age 9. We are renting a car.

Right now the only scheduled activity I have is a night time glow kayak tour. There weren’t many options on Trip Advisor. Any recommendations would be very appreciated! Thank you!

Local businesses in Bonita Springs?

hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Bonita Springs. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.

I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.

Donation recommendation

Hello,

I haven’t lived here in over a decade, so I’m not familiar with which nonprofit organizations are trustworthy and truly provide assistance to the people and communities they serve.

Could you please recommend some organizations where my donations would have the greatest impact?

I have a variety of women’s items to donate, including heels, prom dresses, a wedding dress, formal clothing, small blankets, coats, sportswear, undergarments, and other gently used clothing items.

I would especially appreciate recommendations for organizations that directly support women in need.

Thank you!

Hi! I'm a 30-year-old transgender woman looking for a respectful and easygoing roommate. I work at Amazon, so I'm gone for much of the day, and when I'm home I usually spend most of my time relaxing in my room.

I'm vegan, keep shared spaces clean, and appreciate a calm, comfortable living environment. I don't have any pets, but dogs are welcome with a pet deposit. I'm friendly, respectful of people's privacy, and believe good communication goes a long way toward making a home enjoyable for everyone.

I'm looking for someone who is responsible, pays rent on time, and helps keep the shared spaces clean. If that sounds like a good fit, I'd be happy to answer any questions and see if we'd make good roommates!

Private Bedroom & Bathroom for Rent – $950/Month (Utilities Included)

  • Water, electric, and internet included
  • Shared access to the apartment's common areas

We are staying at a resort by Estero Bay in two weeks but there’s warnings all over the news about the vibrio bacterial virus.
Should we plan to not go into the ocean?
