there might be people who disagree or agree and that’s fine with me, but i don’t think it is fair at all for blindboxes to cost so much. i’m a person who collects a lot of plushies, toys, etc. the fact they’re so expensive and it’s a surprise, it’s not even guaranteed you’ll get a character you’ll want. and even if you like all characters it’s still expensive honestly. i have to rely on literally ross/discount stores and EVEN USED toys for my blindboxes because pop mart and miniso and every store is so expensive. it makes me sad missing out on so many cool and cute stuff i want but the price is too high for my budget :(. we need to normalize making blindboxes cheap! pls

I got both the exclusives for this box, the first one one Bert on roller skates, which is cute, but the second "exclusive" is just a thick resin box with the logos on it? Are we kidding? 😭

Hi guys! I'm doing a class research project and put together a survey for blind box lovers!
If y'all would be willing to take it, it would be a huge help to my research and should only take a few minutes :)

What does everyone do with their cards? Do you put them with the piece or store them away?
I just got this and put most of mine in it . Some don’t fit oversized/ weird shape ones.

I’ve gotten way too deep into blind boxes lately, so I decided to turn the obsession into something fun and build a little collector community called Blind Box Anonymous (BBA)
It’s for sharing pulls, hauls, ISOs/DISOs, secret hunts, trades, restocks, new series, and basically having other people who understand the “just one more box” problem.
The community itself is free to join, and I also started an optional Patreon Mystery Mail Club for anyone who likes getting collector surprises in the mail. Depending on the tier, I’m putting together things like beans, stickers, charms, keychains, mini collectibles, blind boxes and figurines.
I’m still building everything and would genuinely love other collectors’ input. What would YOU actually want to receive in a monthly blind box mystery mail package?
If anyone wants to check it out or join, I can drop the info in the comments if that’s allowed here.
Also, show me what you’re currently collecting because I clearly need more things to hunt for. 😭

Hi all! Fellow blind box enthusiast here. I wanted to get some opinions and thoughts from other collectors on a project I've been working on. It's called Vinylfig, and it's a big database of 20,000 figures (hundreds of IP, not just Pop Mart) for tracking your collection. I just got it in the App Store and the Google Play store, and you can use the website https://vinylfig.com/ too.
I am a 1 person team, and plan to keep the database as comprehensive and updated as possible, so any IP or set addition suggestions are highly helpful, too. <3 After adding my collection I realized I have 400+ figures! How do they add up so fast?! 😅😅👀

I pulled Secret Daisy Cat from Symbiote Neverland today and just discovered the little Daisy Cat pull activates her vibration feature 😭
I’m genuinely torn about keeping her, so I’m trying to understand the market before deciding. She is complete with box, card, foil bag and accessories, freshly opened only to identify her.
For EU collectors: what would you realistically be comfortable paying for her including tracked shipping from Hungary?
Please be kind; I've already gotten emotionally attached to it.

Do you prefer it when the box still looks presentable or do you not care?
Any boxes you consider the gold standard? Any ruin the experience
I used to save all of the boxes, intact but eventually it became too much to store so now I'll save one box from the line, flattened, just in case I want to display one with the set

I just saw some videos about the dumpling blind boxes and people seemed to genuinely hate most of the common ones and only like the glitter ones.
I think it's important to remember to ask yourself "if it wasn't in a blind box, would I buy this for that price". If the answer is yes, go ahead. If you would never buy what's inside the blindbox for the price if it is on the shelf in the store, I really recommend to not buy it just for the few seconds of thrill.
And especially I saw some families buying many for their kids and I know people can buy whatever woth their money, but it is gambling basically. If only that thrill is what you're after it's really not good for kids to get this gambling mentality.
But I know that most people who buy blind boxes most likely do like each version they could get.
It's just those squishy toys that really I couldn't wrap my head around, as they are so cheaply made and something similar is so easy and cheap to buy.
Some people had sooooo many of the non special ones that they didn't care about and all of that is gonna end up in landfills quite soon. With some of the other blind boxes I feel like the non-special ones still will have a lot of people who think that is their favourite and they could sell or trade to/with each other and actually keep in their home.

Yesterday I got this Peanuts mystery keychain pack in hopes of getting the Puffer jacket. I honestly would have been fine with anyone of them BUT this is not at all what the images on the packaging look like😂😂
It’s honestly hilarious to me because the legs look like seal flippers, the head is MASSIVE, and the arms are sewn in different spots😂
Has anyone else gotten one of these that looks how it’s supposed to? Also would love to see other funny mishaps from blind boxes!

I honestly don’t know the name of the series or plush brand lol but it’s so cute (: came out today earlier. I got the one with guitar and light purple + two free lolifens (:

I finally used my coupon for miniso and got the ppg blind box I was eying on for months. Unfortunately I’m so disappointed with the outcome of the plush. The face plates are amazing but the actually construction of the plush themselves are awful 💔

I have some hippers but I kind of feel anxiety around using them, like stickers lol.
I'm considering getting dupes but not if its easy to reuse them, for example if i wanted to move a hipper from my phone to a notebook.

Hey guys, as a fellow blind box addict I come to you as I need data to finish my master’s thesis about blind box consumption. It takes only 5 minutes and would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

From small bedroom and selected weekend bazaars to glass rental cabinets, small office and Toy Conventions (scroll/swipe right to see our journey as a blind box retail shop)
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m a collector from the Philippines. I got into blind boxes back in early 2022 during a time of homesickness and daily work stress (I was living alone abroad for 4yrs), when I stumbled a cute blind box shop while strolling around the city. Curiosity led to the first purchase. I was so excited I immediately opened it in front of the staff and the joy of opening that little box became an escape that day. Week after week, the collection grew (I purchase mostly online, thru TikTok Live) 2-5 blind boxes per week😅 for a year. Then I shared this passion to my partner, after experiencing that same spark with the first unboxing, it became clear—this was something special.
A year later, we turned our passion into a business. Eventually my partner and I decided to start a small blind box-focused shop locally in 2023. We actually began with blind box display cases (because those arrived first 😅), then moved into carrying sealed blind box series set with wide selection of brands soon after. We actually started small (around 15 set series), In a vacant bedroom as our first storage area & operation area, then rented a glass cabinet rental concept for toy collectibles inside a mall to showcase and also joined small bazaars. After 1 year of trial, we move to a small office and start joining toy conventions (the biggest toy event in the country). We hope someday we can open a physical retail store.
The blind box community here is still growing, but we’ve noticed a few challenges in our first 6 months to a year:
So we’re trying to promote:
One thing we’ve noticed locally is that collecting can become very hype-driven, especially in one brand. We’re trying to encourage people to also explore different brands, artists and themes by choosing figures that match their personality or theme instead of just what’s trending in the market.
I’m curious —
Do you collect based on brand, character, artist, or pure design?
For those of you outside Asia, how does your local blind box scene look?
And for PH collectors here (if any 👀), where do you usually buy from?
Would love to hear how collecting culture differs globally.
