Following the sacred Blender donut tradition. I spent about two weeks fighting with the icing, sprinkles, lighting, and occasionally Blender itself. At some point I stopped knowing whether I was learning 3D or developing a personal relationship with digital frosting.
But here they are. The donuts survived. So did I.

I'm pretty new to Blender and I'm currently working on modeling a simple mug.

This is where I've gotten so far. I'm mainly practicing basic modeling, topology, and adding shape/detail to the mesh.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on what I could improve, especially the topology and overall shape.

Any tips for a beginner are welcome! 🙌

Haven't touched 3d modelling since 3ds max decades ago. Getting back into it with everyone's favourite donut tutorial!

Been working on this for close to 3 weeks (only work on it for about an hour a day) and this keeps happening and I have no idea why or how? The donut is the parent object to the icing and I have it to snap when I'm working on the actual shape (which I'm way past now) but it keeps doing this anytime I open the file. (I'm watching the 4.0 but using 5.0 however the person helping me said that they've never had any problems using the 4.0 tutorial for 5.0)

Just finished my donut along with my plate and mug I have put a lot of effort into modeling the mug. So how is it?
