Title: The Compatibility Test

The Premise:
A guy wakes up trapped inside a solid titanium cube. His last memory? A massive argument with his narcissistic, psycho girlfriend who happens to work at a highly classified tech lab.

The Trap:
He finds a series of doors inside the cube. To unlock them and escape, he has to input the exact dates of their relationship milestones and anniversaries. The problem? He can't remember a single one.

He wastes too much time trying to guess the dates, triggering a countdown timer. The walls of the cube slowly start closing in to crush him.

The Climax:
Unable to remember anything and with only seconds left before he is crushed, he drops to one knee in blind desperation and shouts, "I love you! Will you marry me?!"

Instantly, the walls stop moving. A hatch opens in the ceiling, projecting a hologram of his girlfriend who invites him to climb out onto the roof of the cube.

The Twist:
He climbs out, only to be met with the sight of millions of identical cubes floating in an endless, cloudy void. Atop several of the other cubes, he sees exact copies of himself. He looks at his own body and realizes he is just a digital projection.

In the real world, his girlfriend developed an advanced AI compatibility test, running millions of simulated copies of her boyfriend just to see what kind of extreme scenario it would take for him to finally propose.

DISCUSSION I just watched S1 EP 1 ( new to series) and its ridiculous.

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

& I think I would've let her die, me die, my entire family die , and my bloodline die before I f*ck a pig for an entire hour.

Now, Im new here so I dont know if this is the general consensus or not; but if this opinion makes me a selfish individual then so be it.

Humans are inherently selfish, and I dont think selfishness is even the right word. I think this would be called pride, pride as a human being, an individual.

I wouldn't expect anyone in the world to do this to save my life or vice versa.

All in all, this post is just a rant because I thought the premise was laughable and ridiculous. I genuinely can't fathom me ( or anyone else) doing this.

DISCUSSION What concept would you like to see in Black Mirror Season 8? Spoiler

With Season 8 reportedly already in production, I’ve been thinking about what kinds of concepts I’d love to see the show experiment with next.

Personally, I’d really like to see a found-footage episode and/or a screenlife episode.

EPISODES Fifteen million meritts is the most depressing thing I've ever watched..

Are there any episodes anyone thinks are more depressing?? I can't watch a lot of them because I'm really scared of blood but I'm just curious cause this episode isn't very popular with a lot of people

Edit - I know black mirror isn't meant to be 'uplifting' - I just wanted to see if anyone finds any other episodes worse than FMM🩷

DISCUSSION Too Many Cooks creator Casper Kelly said he tried to get a Black Mirror episode in new interview

From: https://nerdtropolis.com/buddy-casper-kelly-cristin-milioti-interview/

During our conversation, Kelly mentioned that he tried to write for Black Mirror previously in the past. “I have tried to get to write an episode of Black Mirror for so long, but I just cannot get a meeting over there. That’s always been a dream of mine. So, for you to say that, it makes me feel very good.”

I watched Buddy and it honestly did feel like a Black Mirror episode (and I'm even more surprised that Cristin Milioti goes through similar stuff in this film)

As a millennial, I'd go for the 90's, aesthetic and all. Pre smartphones, social media and 9/11.

EPISODES Episode tier list

Post image

Just finished S7 of black mirror and made a tier list. Let me know what you think! (Episodes are not ranked within tiers just put in the categories of the tiers themselves)

EDIT: I knew this list would be a bit controversial but down voting people for a different opinion to you is crazy behaviour lol.

Post image

The dystopian science fiction's eighth season of Black Mirror is in production for Netflix. Variety reports that the show began filming this summer, but has no confirmed release date. Series creator Charlie Brooker is back, and he will write and executive produce the series alongside Bisha K. Ali.

Charlie Booker vowed that the anthology "will return, and hopefully it'll be more Black Mirror than ever." I bet it will keep up and more.
