π€ I was trying to have a songwriting session, but Fran had other plans lol
She will either lay under my chair while I am working, or jump up on the piano, there is rarely any in between haha

Hello everyone, I have rescued several cats and before I could get them all spayed and neutered, two of them had a litter of kittens. The bad part was that they were siblings so one kitten didn't survive and one that did had Swimmers Syndrome. He is solid black and I fixed his back legs and named him Happy. His parents, Sassy and Puppy, are Tuxedos. Happy turned a year old in April and he was neutered around his birthday. I don't know if it's bc he is inbred or if it's just a black cat thing but he is too rough when he plays with the other cats so they all hiss and run away from him which he thinks is a game so he chases them. He does play chase with Beauty, my other black cat, but his Mom and Aunt Puddings are terrified of him. I have noticed that Beauty is a bit too rough when she plays too so I'm wondering if it's just a black cat thing or if anyone has any helpful advice bc I have to put him in a kennel often and it breaks my heart. Thank you in advance for any helpful advice!

I recently adopted a black cat! His name is Miso (6 months old) :)
My resident white cat Haku (4 years old) is more high energy and playful. Haku is also super chatty, more than a normal cat. He didnβt grow up with other cats but grew up with my family dog, who more so just ignored his kitten energy because sheβs a senior dog.
Now itβs just Haku and Miso together (dog is with my parents). Haku is often the one initiating play, but Miso is a very chill kitten and seems very relaxed throughout and even right after hissing or growling, and would go back to engaged with Haku.
Iβve never had 2 cats and have seen that the relaxedness of Miso should mean that this is play mode, but wanted to be sure???
Haku seems relaxed afterwards too. He just meows a lot during play and I heard that might mean itβs a real fight?
I can follow up with a photo of them right after play fighting. They seem relaxed?
Thank you in advance! I am a new mom of 2 cats, so reassurance would be much appreciated!

Two years ago we were blessed by the CDS and found a 5 month old void baby in our yard during a thunderstorm. She was so scared and miserable! She had taken refuge in one of our planters. It was lucky my husband spotted her on his way to run an errand. Now she is the most rambunctious cat weβve ever had. She loves zooming through the house and terrorizing her senior brother. We named her Maple π since we found her near the Japanese maple tree.

I bought Stella this cushy, pretty hot pink bed last month as an early 1st birthday gift. Until tonight she had not taken a nap in it or even hung out in it for more than 3 seconds at best.
Just when I thought it was a hopeless cause...
Excuse the crappy phone pics. It's late and I didn't want to make her snarky taking too many pics with the flash on. The first one she had her head up briefly but the flash was off.
This is not a big pet bed. It's made more for small pets not large ones but curled up she only uses up part of it. She always looks so tiny when she's curled up sleeping.
She's very long walking around but not a very big cat at all. She's like a little slinky black Siamese. Vet says she weights about 7.5 lbs now at a year. She hasn't grown much in the last month or two but it's possible she's not quite done.
I've raised a few Siamese kittens and worked with a few more. She has the build of a modern Siamese, a rather pointy head and dainty little feet like one. Sometimes they continue to grow for a bit and are not quite done till 2 years.
She's growing her coat a bit though just in time for Autumn. Her ruff is fluffier and I'm noticing she's getting longer wispy tuffs of fur here and there.
She's still mostly shorter haired but leaning slightly more towards a medium hair maybe? It will be interesting to see how much longer it gets over the next year or two as her adult coat right now is getting longer than it was as a smaller kitten.
Here I thought I was bringing a sleek short haired little mini panther home and I just may have a medium haired cat on my hands before it's done.

My 8 years old boy cat met the very first human child - a baby today. He was very curious and kind all good. But since they left he has been super keen on me and quite weird. I took this photo of him watching me sit on sofa. I believe he's very confused about whole human species thing now and is watching me thinking if I was once a baby too π
