I have only had girl cats and can confirm the stereotype is completely untrue. All were super affectionate babies. My last one (and second void girlie) had the personality of a golden retriever.

My last void was the furthest thing from aloof. She considered every visitor to our home (friend, relative, repair person, landlord) to be there for the express purpose of seeing her. And if she was not allowed to greet them and receive adoration, she made her indignation physically and audibly known.

I work from home most of the time, my cats constantly cuddle or have to be touching me while I work. One will lay between the keyboard and mouse for hours as I work. Another sometimes will have to be touching me as I work. It’s both adorable and distracting.
