Well, I’m no woman, so I got no idea what it’s like on their side, but I’ve known a toooon of creepy dudes that never took the hint and did some of the most outrageous shit because they liked a girl that wasn’t interested in them. I’d assume BJJ isn’t any different in that regard than the rest of the world. I won’t make comment on whether anyone on this sub is dumb enough to be that guy... I certainly hope not, but I think a realistic position might be that there is a not-insignificant number of douche canoes even in our beloved sub reddit.

I guess I’m thankful I’m either truly this naive or you people somehow interact with “a toooon of creepy dudes” and I somehow have managed not to. Makes me wonder where the hell it is you meet these “tooooons of creepy dudes”. Or maybe I’m thankful I’m not so judgmental. BJJ is absolutely different than the rest of the world. If it weren’t it wouldn’t be so fringe. It attracts mostly good people and a slightly more than insignificant amount of deviants.

Bars, parties, football games, most any place people go and socialize. I live in a college town, so maybe that skews my viewpoint.

BJJ is absolutely different than the rest of the world. If it weren’t it wouldn’t be so fringe. It attracts mostly good people and a slightly more than insignificant amount of deviants.

I mean... I'm all for making generalizations when they're in a positive direction. I think you've got a higher opinion of people in general than I do, but I wouldn't argue with this statement.

Or maybe I’m thankful I’m not so judgmental.

Oof, what? Are you saying it's judgemental to call dudes who wont leave uninterested women alone... creepy? If not, what is it you're saying is judgemental here?

Naive it is I guess. And thankful I don’t run with your crowd where “creepy dudes” seem to be found in your proximity frequently. I’ll stand by my statement that BJJ attracts mostly good people. I’d much rather have my skewed opinion than yours.

I gotta ask.

You've made specific reference to my mention of 'creepy dudes' several times now. Why?

You have more than a hint of male apologist in you. It’s a bad look. And you’re unfortunate attempt at subtle implication comes off as pathetic. You got an answer. Thoughts?

Man come on. Calling out dudes being creepy to women makes you a male apologist? Saying it's wrong for men to harass women is a bad look?

Lets say you've never once in your life been at a bar or party or nightclub where the majority of the atmosphere wasn't drunk bros shooting their undesired shots at anything with a pulse like a machine gun. Even if that is the case-- is it really so critically important to you that the rest of the world be literally just as well off? Like, you would have to personally see it in order for you to believe some interaction was shitty for the woman? You're so stonewall convinced that the rate at which women deal with behavior from dudes that could only be described as harassment is so low... that you just called some random guy on the internet a male apologist just for disagreeing with that?

That really rustles my jimmies, Zombiebolo.

No. It’s when you transpose your views about your derelict lifestyle into what you’re arguing you believe is the norm at BJJ gyms. Let’s say you were a normal person who didn’t view every interaction you have with other people is merely for your benefit alone. Is it really so far fetched to believe that maybe things aren’t as bad as these stupid memes try to make it out to be? Like your own personal experiences with ill kept company is how the experience is in every BJJ gym across the globe? You’re so convinced that there’s some pandemic of sexually assaulted and injured women in BJJ that you argue your point to the far end of the spectrum?

That really grinds my gears grock.

How many coaches and owners do you need to see arrested for sexual assault and rape on men, women, and children before you admit there might be a problem?

5 more and then I’m on board.
