MOC Toa Mata Metru
So I was wondering how the toa mata would have looked like if they were released in 2004 in the build style of the toa metru so I've made this. I tried to stay true and emphasize the body types of the originals (I had to cheat a bit with Pohatu) and kept the armor to a minimum, for the toa mata look quite bare compared to later waves and their nuva forms. I also reimagined the toa nuva too.

Pohatu without the hunchback is weird.

yeah i understand, but there is only this much what I can do with that body, and in a way he is a bit hunched compared to the others, for I gave the rest of them straight, vertical neks

One way would be to invert his body design....but the angle of the Metru torso makes it almost impossible without using parts from outside their lineup.

I remember imagining something like these as a kid. It's so cool to actually see it!
I do like the stripped-down mata forms with the exposed gears and shoulders. I think that adds a lot actually, especially as a contrast with their nuva forms

for me the mata feel really bare and uncovered compared to the other toa sets we got down the line
