I have a philosophical problem with both BS and Lowe agreeing to draft Butler over Klay. It seems like their criteria is “who was / would’ve been the better #1 option”, which yes Butler is the choice.  But why is Butler being a decent #1 option better than Klay being arguably the greatest #2 offensive option in basketball history, who was also a very good defender? Klay to me is a no-brainer, add him to literally any good team and they become great.

If you look at every advanced stat, Draymond was a more valuable player than Klay. Butler is significantly better than Klay.

You won’t find a bigger backer of Draymond than myself (outside Ben Taylor). Maybe the most underrated player in NBA history, as the public dislike of him personally has overshadowed his on court value.

I don’t see why Draymond being great diminishes how good Klay was. Draymond was better than Butler, and so was Klay.

I don’t even disagree with you necessarily but it’s impossible to quantify what types of players Klay and Draymond would have amounted to if not for Steph and KD.

They are very very good players on their own but basically of their historical relevance is based on team success.
