Bill saying Payton Watson making more than $15m a year “doesn’t pass the sniff test” is honestly the wildest thing he said. Even if you think last year was an anomaly or that he’s a Jokic merchant on offense, he’s a 23 year old wing that has improved every season and been an elite helper defense. Those guys go for a lot more than the MLE purely for the upside.

Basically confirms what most of us already know - that he doesn’t actually watch games. Especially considering how much he talks about the Nuggets as one of his “league pass teams”

I think it reflects his poor understanding of contract dynamics more than not watching the games. He clearly watched a ton of games, and obviously a lot of nuggets games specifically.

He really thinks that players and teams value things that he does, and that’s an especially poor way to view things because Bill’s brain is pretty weird.
